Thinking of starting on UOSA, a question first.

Post by Andrius »

Hi, i'm thinking of starting to play UO again, and as far as i know this is the best shard i could find, but there's one VERY IMPORTANT thing i need to know, before i start here.

Is there trammel and statloss here? :)

I used to play Siege Perilous on OSI UO from almost the very start of the shard, and loved every minute of it untill AoS spoiled it... and one of the most important reasons i loved about Siege was absence of both trammel and statloss. Every Siege player will understand me :D I could live without most other rules, like the absence of no-recall and no dungeon runes rules on this shard (even though there's no better thrill than running for your life without those :D ), but you can't have everything i guess :D

Damn... so there's not many rampant pks running around killing everyone, because of fear of losing stats? :)

Oh yes, there are. I've yet to see a solo PK, but then again I've been here for what 70 days or so.

alot of pk's just run multiple 7xgm tanks and burn of shorts and the ones who are deep stat (past 20 shorts) just rez and macro back up in 3 days rather then wait as a ghost for the shorts to wear of

Just get in with a decent Anti guild and the PK's rarely bother ya's. They're looking for the easy kill. If its a group of ya's they may lob a few spells hoping to get one of ya's to separate from the group so they can dump on ya...but they generally don't wanna mess with a situation that isn't a guaranteed success for them.

Try speaking with guilds like DG and C^V. They're a pretty decent crowd and are essentially allied guilds and go on hunts together almost daily...both monster hunts and even PK hunts.

That's not the point, i don't want to avoid fighting with PKs, i WANT them to attack as much as possible and have fights with them as often as possible without them constantly being in fear of losing. Running into a random lone pk in the middle of nowhere and fighting him was one of the most fun aspects when i used to play UO. And in statloss shards you almost NEVER see lone pks :)

I had 2 accounts, one was a PK mage called Mercury, in the DT guild (The Dark Tower), used to run with Herog and his bunch pking and RPing alot. The other was called Andrius, a kind of hybrid dexxer with magery and eval.int to finish off people and get around with gates, guildmaster of the Britain Militia (B*M), used to attack orcs a ton and protect the biggest player run town on Siege at that time, can't for the life of me recall what it was called now :D

Who were you?

no world is perfect but this is the closest experience to old school UO you'll find. rezzing in stat costs a lot of money. gming resist again? sheeeeeit i'd say it's a win.

Guess i'll continue my search for a shard with T2A rules and no statloss. The closest i found to that and to Siege Perilous ruleset was a shard called In Por Ylem, and it was AWESOME, but then they closed it... and made a shitty 2.0 version of the shard with worse rules....
