Blood Red Hues?

Post by Sercruse »

Hey all, so I've collected a bunch of red cloth recently, hues 1601 through 1654. I have them all organized by hue number and was wondering which of these hues are actually considered to be true "Blood Red" I see arguments that either 1644 or 1654 are the true blood red colours but nothing ever conclusive...

In my opinion, just looking through my stock, there are actually multiple "Blood Red" colours. The way that the hues are laid out, the darkest reds in that hue range would be 1609, 1618, 1627, 1636, 1645, 1654. See a pattern?

1609 is a very dark "dirty" red and 1654 is much cleaner looking but still very red. I'm planning on expanding this stock into other rare colours and opening a special clothing shop very soon if interest is shown.

I do have a lot of 1109, 1108 and 1644 cloth that I'll continue stockpiling as it comes available.

Would any of you have interest if I opened a shop like this?

As far as I know, 1644 is the true blood red hue. 1654 and 1636 are also very close. I think if you had a vendor selling clothing and cloth it could do actually pretty well. Especially if you sold the nightmare hued clothing/cloth 1106-1109. I'm not aware of anybody selling this stuff via vendor on the server currently...

What makes 1644 "THE TRUE" blood red hue? It's rather silly to say that 1644 is "THE TRUE" blood red color when 1654 and the other hue #'s are almost identical. Just because 1 player says his sandals and mask are the true blood red hue doesn't mean that hue is the only blood red hue. An example would be the silver bridal sandals, there are like 4 or 5 different hue #'s for them, but they are all silver bridal sandals. Besides, 1654 is the best blood red hue anyways :)

Haha, that's kinda what I thought - they're all dark red but it's just preference for which one you like. Personally, if you're going for dark red, 1609 is friggin dark. If you want a vivid red, 1654 or 1644 are your colours. What i really find interesting is that nobody talks about 1645, it's a hue darker than 1644 and arguably more "bloody".

Don't know if I have seen hue 1645. BTW, in answer to your original post I would be interested in a shop like that if you opened one. Figuring out a price for cloth in these hue #'s would be the tricky part, as far as I know there isn't another shop selling cloth regularly in these hues. Best of luck to you with this venture.

1645 is the best (read: my favorite) cloth color for the reds...it's dark but still vibrant/pops out.

Robe on this char is 1645 http://my.uosecondage.com/Status/Player/126648

Yeah I got ahold of some 1645 and it's a great colour, very vivid!

So here's what I'm finding, if you're talking TRUE blood red, meaning the brightest blood red there is, it would be 1654. 1645 is literally the same colour but 1 shade darker.

I believe that hues 1609, 1618, 1627, 1636, 1645 and 1654 are all the same base colour with different shading. So if you think about a dye tub selector, imagine selecting any colour in the chart and moving the light/dark slider to change it. That's how these specific hues are coloured. I have all of these in stock right now except 1654 which continues to elude me but I do have a lot of 1653.

I can't decide if it's going to be better to set up a vendor or just take custom orders on this stuff. After I upgrade my house I'll be able to showcase the colours a little easier because I can lay them all out on the floor. For now, I will get it all organized and post some screenshots of the ranges.

Edit: Actually, looking at them again, my previous statement is wrong, all of the hues I listed above are different colours, but the same shade. The shading goes from 1601-1609, 1610-1618, 1619-1627, etc. But still, the most vivid blood red is the 1654, however, the 1645 is still awesome.
