CTF League Discussion...

I'm just tossing around the idea of a CTF league. I am going to post some basic rules. The discussion is to discuss pros/cons of the rules. Offer ideas/opinions, etc.

1. I believe the teams should be 5 v 5 (could go 4 or 6).

2. Each team gets a supply chest that only they can access. This chest contains a set number of regs (TBD), a set number of potions (TBD - Up to each team to choose how many of each), a set number of poisons (can get additional poison by using your potion limit if you choose), a set number of weapons/gear (all GM, no magical). The chest can also contain other supplies such as pouches. The idea is the team has to manage their finite supplies in addition to the game. The supply chest, ideally, should be accessed like a bank in the spawn area.

3. Trade skills are allowed if the participants have them. For example, an alchemist could dip into the reg supply to make more potions. A poisoner could poison weapons on the fly (but not prior to the event). A blacksmith could repair gear. Im not suggesting these skills are needed, but its an option and the finite supplies means it may be worth having these skills.

4. All spells are allowed except recall. Mark and gate are limited to the arena only. All runes are wiped at the start of the round. Scrolls are not allowed...though a scribe can make them for his team using supplies. All spells operate as they should (Full team damage, etc. Summons allowed).

5. No magical jewelry/cloths. Thus no reflect, no invis items, etc. No magical weapons. No magical armor. In some modes, this stuff could be enabled but with full loot you may lose them.

6. Which brings the next point...full loot! With a finite set of resources, you will want to be careful with how much gear you give your enemy. Resource management is key.

7. Resurrection. When you die you become a ghost. Your team can resurrect you with bandages or the spell. Alternatively you can run back to your home base and a healer there will resurrect you. Having allies res you can be quicker, obviously.

8. The arena should be redesigned. Some change I would make is moving the 'forts' closer together. Id have a central area with random spawn (nothing too powerful but will allow for kiting tactics, bards, etc). Orc inspired battlements that you can actually shoot off of. Etc. I won't go into too much detail but the map should be revised to account for many play styles and simply make things look a little nicer.

This would be a lot of work for the developer...

However, Ronk, I agree that CTF in-game items should be regulated and the same across the board for every participant.

Empty their pack at the beginning and have a CTF reg/armor/weapon stone etc.

Less work and more fairness.

i want the option to sign up ur own ctf teams like once a week (weekend) and to keep the old style ctfs within the week. way more fun.
