Meditation Issues

Up front, I apologize because I see that this has been posted in the past, but I feel like I'm just missing something altogether.

I've been macroing Meditation for over a day now and I'm stuck at 62.0 skill. (not show real) I'm using the magic wizard's hat trick to equip/unequip to cause mana loss, then using meditation. I have it set on a razor macro for skill gain but I'm not getting anywhere.

Now I've read the guide and Derricks long post about how meditation works and, just like any skill, the larger the chance for failure, the better the chance for gain. It seems like, according to that post, that you can wear armor in order to increase your chances for gains. I'm currently wearing enough leather armor (no metal) to get my ac to 16 but I'm still not gaining. According to the wiki page http://wiki.uosecondage.com/index.php?title=Meditation, at the very bottom it says that macroing such as the one that I have set will take your skill all the way to GM, but I'm still not gaining....

Anyone able to help?

you need to get your mana lower to gain
just having -5 mana isnt enough to gain past 62
try spending some mana get down around 60% mana

Armor doesn't so much increase difficulty of meditation as much as it prevents meditating at all, and slows mana regen. Difficulty is based on how short you are of mana, if can't mediate actively at all if you are short more mana than you skill level, i.e. 100 int, 40 mana = down 60 mana. You'll have no change of mediating if your skill if 59.9 in this scenario.
