UO Second Age

It's getting pretty bad.. the lag
Every 10-30 seconds I literally stop in my tracks and have to wait as if the shard is saving.. but it's not..
Now that we're growing i don't see it getting any better unless something is done
I finally got a new comp and thought it would solve half the problems i've been having but no go: i still have this horrible lag all the time, and it's been getting worse it seems like to me
Anyone else experience this?

word, we play from same area but i have same problem. i know were not the only ones either. i saw spanky and his team during the 3v3 loose to lag. i lagged completely and then one of his teamates was dropped. he even said "lag wtf" which means we all lagged at the same time. its getting pretty bad, and im close to server/have a decent computer.
maybe we can do a stress test to see if it is the server?

I am also experiencing jumps of lag ever once in awhile. Today I am experiencing more than other days. Maybe its due to the increase of active ppl, but I am not sure to be honest.

I have no lag. This suggests the problem is not the server.

I'm not getting the lag either. I'ts definately not server stress but it could be a nearby router. It definately doesn't effect everyone, but it does seem to effect groups of people.

to do a tracert, from command prompt, type:
tracert uosecond age.com

paste the results into an email.

i hav elag somtimes but i am not sure its from anythign bt my computer, i did the thign you said with the cmd prompt
how do i copy whats in the cmd to this forum or email, i cant do the usual highlight copy paste thing

Right click in the console window and choose mark, highlight the text and then rightclick on it and it'll go to your clipboard, then paste into an email

I can't decide if my lag is from our apartments wireless or if its from the server yet. I am trying different things to see if I can determine which it is.

half our trees were destroyed by ice storm in middle of october

i dont have much lag at all coming out of eastern PA. Some days are better than others ofcourse but i would say 95% of the time in can run free across brit.

Those lag hiccups he is talking about have to be server wide, they occur while I am hunting and the MOBs freeze themselves as well.

The server is in Texas. I'm still looking into this. I've received quite a few tracerts, and I'm beginning to get the idea that there is a router problem, but also I've heard reports of global hic-ups from a few people too

I'm going to shut down the UOAM server for now and see if there's a possibility that's causing in and it does have an interestingly high total CPU time.

If they had to be, then they would be. But since they aren't, then they ain't.

I'll have to make a lot of assumption as to what the hell that's supposed to mean. But yes, when I freeze for 3 seconds while running from a dragon, unfreeze to find the dragon and myself in the same position we were before the freeze, it is the server. If you had any friends and used ventrilo, you would notice when everyone freezes at the same time.

i suggest running a command prompt and then typing the following command:
tracert uosecond age.com > C:\trace.txt
where C:\trace.txt you may put any path that you want.
and then just email your trace.txt to Derrick
