Keeping animals in your house...

I boxed in 2 animals in my 2 story (tried it on both levels) to help train my provo and I lost conn. I noticed I had lost conn around ~30 minutes after it occurred. When I logged back in the animals were gone. I tried boxing them in flush against the corner. I then tried giving them some room to roam to see if this would do anything ot help them stick around.
On both occasions they disappeared. I am not trying to stick an animal in there permanently, but it would be nice if they at least stuck around for a few hours in the case if you lose conn. Its annoying to have to come back and repeat the process if I happen to lose conn. I seem to remember in the early days of UO you could stick an animal in your house for a good amount of time.

There's currently a problem in some areas with the tamed creatures returning to their spawn location, it doesn't happen to most of them but I think this is unrelated to your d/c
We're working on it. Thanks for the report

Actually, reporting where the creatures that disapeared were initially found would be helpful.
So far I know the sheep in Del and one of the Nightmare spawns tend to do this.

I have been trying to keep sheep in my house and have noticed after a couple of days they disappear. I usually retame them at night before I log out. Is there a time frame that I have to retame them in the next day to keep them?
I kept them in my house since the night of April 22. Then mon. (4/27) night about 11:30CST I tamed them before I logged. The next night around 9:30CST I logged in and they where gone.

Is it possible people's animals are being house-killed?

I tend to kill sheep inside houses. In towers, Castles and Keeps only the center few tiles are safe. If you have the Keep on Ice island that holds them, I probably killed them. So I do not think that ALL your sheep are returning home, just dieing. I used to keep 400+ sheep before they changed the sheep growing their wool inside houses thing . . .

Ok, house kills is one possibility but is there something to do with the server as to how long you can have tamed or untamed animals in your house. Or a time frame that you have to have the animal re-tamed in?

There is, but it isnt daily . . . . If the animals go without being cut, or tamed . . . . usually cutting them is good.
What Derrick is saying, is some animal regions will "call back" their spawns . . . but it seems that its only if you get the animal from that area. So if u grab sheep from all over the world, you would only risk loosing a few of them.

I had successfully kept sheep in my house for a while some time ago until there was a server crash and it was down for a bit. I think the spawns were reset to fix the crash and that is what I attributed my disappearing sheep to.
It is a good way to make money though. Hope this gets fixed.

I just had a giant scorpion disappear from a tower. Tamed him several days ago from the desert. Gated him to the tower, boxed him in, and released him. I happened to have a character in the same room as him when he disappeared and saw nothing nor anything in the journal to indicate why he disappeared. Nothing was attacking him; my character was just sitting in the corner of the room.
Is there a time limit or maximum amount of creatures you can keep in your house ?

Unless its changed I believe its like 20 hours they will decay if they are not attacked.
