Ogre Lords and EV's

What am I doing wrong here? I was in the OL room, had a bunch of mobs provoked, and I threw an EV into the mix. Of course, it goes after me first and I invis, but then it just hovers there and refuses to attack any mobs at all. Also, I cannot provoke the EV: "You have no chance of provoking those creatures!" ... what gives here?

Energy Vortex (and blade spirits) AI changed in a recent patch and now they're just plain retarded.

They only attack two types of targets:
1. The closest player/monster that is on the tile directly next to it
2. You

If you happen to cast it too far away, it will attack you. Once it kills its target, it will attack you. If you hide and wait, then reveal, it will attack you. If you recall and come back, it will attack you.

Yeah in the advent that you weren't able to cast it on a tile adjacent to the monster, you pretty much have to take the EV by the hand and lead it there yourself.

At which point a violent rape ensues. I don't know why people complain about this. I solo balrons and the AW all day long because EV pwns. Quit your sobbing.

It's not too bad in the OL room, if you trap the OL between tables and cast the EV around him, it will chase you but still be trapped in that area. You can control it by moving left or right and run it into the OL.

I dont have any problems with EVs just keep practicing. Paralyze your targets if you have too and make sure u always drop it tile next to the mob you want it to kill. I had the same problem for a week or so when I was relearning how to farm on provoker. I usually get most of the mobs in the ogre lord room busy fighting eachother before I start eving the lord. After that you can start provoking the new spawn onto the OL and cast ev on his just dont miss the tile next to him or itll kills you.
