Guildfights and shit talking.
Guildfights and shit talking.
I'd like to keep this thread fairly diplomatic if possible, this isn't a killshit thread, or in the trash talk section, merely a place for the guilds to air their indifferences out.
Let me start off by saying I respect the fact that TG along with GsG is looking for fights, are active (we need more of these) and not forum warrioring like most people (Clyde/Wylan/Etc.). I hope that they (crew and all other forum warriors) decide to actually get on and contribute to the guild wars going on.....I think they're missing out on good action from time to time.
We need more guilds pvping and less griefing, we need somewhere to go where you know you're going to run into fights. Bucs den seems to be the only place that you can find a fight currently, and that seems only after/before events. Right now it seems like house camping is the route people are taking to find fights in game. You guys have my IRC along with Eggrolls, and GsG went about it the right way even though they house camped for a little bit. We came out they died, they came back we died, I asked them to back off, they did. We should have came up for a solution on where to fight then. But here we are now, uncertain of where to go to find reds, oranges or even blues that want to fight. We (the pvp guilds such as TG, GsG, crEw, and ourselves and others) don't have the designated area to meet as we did on OSI such as Crossroads, GY, etc. TW is ready to ante up and help establish this spot hopefully with the help of the other guilds.

Re: Guildfights and shit talking.
My shit talking comes from nothing more than camping peoples houses with ghosts and killing people while they are afk. It's stupid imo ... and the only reason I can think that you guys would do it is because we've made you mad with something we've done in a computer game that you would have to go as low to ghost houses and have another character with an efield precasted off screen to put in our doors when someone is recalling into the house. Mongoose deserved that picture I made ... bc that form of griefing is retarded.
I never once said anyone on this server sucked. Thats not my style, but for a mechanically era accurate T2A shard, players don't field fight the way they use to. Little to no one use to carry a keg worth of pots on them or wands during that era. If someone had 5 of each potion on them it was a lot. Now if you don't have 15-20 of each in the field, you are out classed most of the time.
IMO TG does well in the field, not because they are extremely coordinated players that cross heal exceptionally, but because they use everything they have to survive (pots, wands, pouchs, running, houses, the occasional cross heal- mainly from Isu - who I've noticed is their best cross healer) ... take that how you want, but that is what I've noticed. No one in TG is bad, they are pretty good individual players, but highly dependent on consumables to do well in the field.
TW is up and coming ... we have a lot of newer faces coming here, including myself. We know how to play the game the way it was. Some lack some cross healing awareness, but for the most part we are decently coordinated with what we have. Individually we know how to play. We win, we lose ... don't recall any of use saying we are on top of the game as pvpers. We aren't as dependent to do well on consumables as TG is though. The only time you'll loot us with a bag of 60 potions is gonna be after we've killed someone in TG.
You wanna see a coordinated team, go look at thounds thooper (the gsg alts) ... they cross heal very well and are not consumable dependent. They also know when to back off griefing ... from my understanding they hung around our house for sometime as well, but were asked to back off and did so. All they are guilty of is double hally/warhammer hits which will be fixed eventually (die gappa!)
We as a guild seem to have made some people pretty angry from these kill shots in this thread. We play to kill people, no matter if its 1 on 1 or 10 on 1 and we show it here ... 90% of the time unless the person acts like an ass, they get ressed, horse lives, we gate them out or give them recalls and their runes. We've even had people in TW give their horse away if the person horse died to a monster while they were getting ressed ... yet certain people get so up tight about a few pictures and have to resort to griefing ... fun stuff
... I was asked to move this post into this thread ... so here it is

Re: Guildfights and shit talking.
half the people your talking to (crew and more) don't have 3 people to get on and fight with you.. so why would we log on to get paraganked by an entire guild?
(i ran around five minutes yesterday and got paraganked by thoundsthoopers [3 of em] while trying to solo them out for 1v1s--they weren't having it.. they needed to gank, but its understandable; they had the #'s..why not use em?)
Destard is the hottest spot for PVP on this shard.. the only time i can't find fights there are early mornings..
i see where your going but as I said a while ago.. if your running around the field the chances to find a 1v1 (unless your PKin'g) isn't that high.. you have a MUCH higher chance of getting ganked if your solo than finding a 1v1
I have to say: i am happy you guys are here tho because for MONTHS i was running around trying to find PVPers but all I could find were GHEAL precasters.. i was soo close to quitting..
once i get a new comp b0mb and I will start playing alot more so we'll see how it goes

Well that's why I created this thread, pvping in Destard with dragons and drakes on you isn't really pvp. Neither is getting 3v1 ganked. I don't know what I can say about having numbers....It's not like we're going to drop people in our guild to accomodate. But honestly usually it's 3 of us running around, unless we're pking which could be upwards of 4-5 for now and I haven't ran into too many of you during that. At least for now......I run around a lot with only one other quite a bit also. thounds thoopers are GsGs pkers so I don't think that they are looking for "pvp" you just got caught at the wrong time....
We need a solution, as well as some follow up that will have to take place on my guilds parts, and everyone elses.

Yeah I agree, but what I'm trying to accomplish with this thread is moreso where we can 3v1 someone, or 3v2, or whatever the case may be, a meeting ground for the warring guilds that recalll around looking for people to kill that can't find any. Such as the crossroads, in front of wrong, bucs.... all the places that we used to use on OSI.

Re: Guildfights and shit talking.
The reason that there is not an active pvp area, is simply because there are not enough people looking to pvp. I think a lot of people don't even want to pvp unless they are 7x gm.
Back when I played on OSI, Atlantic, Yew Gate was a definite Hotspot for pvp. Although that may have a lot to do with the guilds that lived & associated around that area. Buc's Den was also very active, but that was only after the fact that it had acquired a public moongate. Wrong was also a frequently traveled area, as the roof made quite a nice arena fit for duels.
I think that because of the higher difficulty to gain skills and to acquire money, it's a lot harder for the average pvper to have enough supplies to simply pvp &/or pk all day long. In reference to that, most people take dying more seriously when they lose the hard-earned supplies they worked for.

This is true, but people who I'm directing this at, like my guild, yours, tg, gsg shouldn't have a money problems. I don't know if its a matter of numbers either, just seems like most guilds are playing at different times without a idea of where to find fights. Very good points thought and I remember Bucs Den Yew Moongate and Wrong on Atlantic also...alatar wrote:The reason that there is not an active pvp area, is simply because there are not enough people looking to pvp. Not Detraining it at all.
Once we get the new guys trained up and well versed on tactics. I can promise you guys that it'll be a whole lot harder to stroll into our fort. Which we pretty much take personal in game. ^_^
Hell, my goal is to make you all end up working together to get through the door.. We just have to get the newer people xhealing like it's second nature.

Re: Guildfights and shit talking.
Hey Homer ....
Atlantic had wrong roof, bucs den, moonglow usually had decent pvp around the island (more for guild wars), hell deciet right above lichlord room use to be the duel spot for some of the more serious pvpers. CC use to hang around covetous entrance, llts island use to get raided ... big problem is the shard needs more pvpers ... with a shard this small on pvp, IMO, if magery was allowed in towns, more players would raid towns on their order/chaos or guild warred characters if there was no one in the pk spots. At least there would be people around, that would maybe see the action, and think about joining order/chaos or guild wars. I remember while I was in SSJ on atlantic, we'd raid beserk in glow, then head to brit for TSG, then go somewhere else for another guild depending upon what bank the guild used.

Re: Guildfights and shit talking.
Buc's Den and destard seem to be the best spots.. wouldnt try to force a spot.. it wont work. Just frequent current spots, and enhance them.
Re: Guildfights and shit talking.
I always like outside of Wrong. It's that same concept as Despise (open area accessable by one road in through mountains) But it's a little bigger.
Re: Guildfights and shit talking.
TBH i dont have a single problem with anyone on here, period. I just thoroughly enjoy arguing with people so i start them. I really wish i could play right now but until i get these last few tests out of the way for this semest i cannot return. After that i do plan on coming back but for how long idk.
