What if it was Era-Accurate Mechanics instead...?

Post by Light Shade »

Another Hypothetical Discussion Because I'm Bored...

What if the shard was Era-Accurate Mechanically speaking instead of Era-Accurate in general? I know that there are some things that are not Era-Accurate, but on the whole the theme here is "Era-Accuracy" in general terms.

If it was Era-Accurate from a Mechanics standpoint only, this would allow the staff to introduce new things to the shard without getting away from the Mechanics of player interaction that give the shard that Old School Wild West feel.

I'm not looking for anything in particular, I just think that if it were changed it would allow for new things to be added. As it is I would imagine that things will stagnate once Era Accuracy (more or less) is achieved. I could be wrong, though. Time will tell. I was just kinda curious about what was important with the Era Accuracy thing. Was it in general...or just the mechanics that bind player interaction?

I heard somewhere that Furniture Dye Tubs w/ Unlimited Charges were actually Era Accurate. Is that even true? I can't remember for the life of me...too many memories blurring together.

Me too. I enjoy the original Ultima atmosphere that was still present in T2A.

Crap like purple beetles, butt-ugly custom housing disasters everywhere, and neon-colored everything is what drove me away from OSI more than anything.

I think dex based healing and bola's should be added. Those are close enough and it'll help feed many hungry orcish mouths.

Why should we pick and choose inaccurate mechanics to add, especially ones only wanted by an minority who only *choose* not to use existing mechanics (mounts). UOSA is a T2A shard, period.
