just wished to know if there is a way to get out of Island of the avatar alone due to kill and loss of body with stuff in it. Nobody seems to worry about ghosts there as i saw 1-2 players training. (maybe i scare them ).

Any other way than being gated nor recalling?

stuck in front of Hythloth ... and being a ghost is not funny at all for gameplay.

or maybe i just need a gate if a player would be nice enough to bring me out of there? dunno at all what to do so if someone come, i surelly will be in front of dungeon even in one hour ;-9 so do not hesitate to come until i warn here to say when it is done.

If you are trapped and can't get help, you can hit Help-Stuck and you will be transported to a random town within 10 minutes.

Don't abuse this, though. I think you can only use it 2x in a 24 hr period.

And whatever you do, do not cancel the Help-Stuck request once you submit it. If you do, you will get completely stuck and will need the GM's help.

This is an inappropriate use for the help-stuck feature, and further goes to prove that it should be abolished. If you are stick on an island, get in irc and ask someone for a ride. There are links to irc at the top of this site.

so they can join irc and be told to do the same wrong thing? lol because this is what happens then it turns into a argument how its not 'abuse' ,but yeah i agree with you

Agreed a lot fun and meeting people are missed out by this feature .. I'm guessing its mainly for people that choose to use a either non supported .. or at least not OUR client .. (seeing most stuff by now that affect the main client are fixed)...

At this point I be all for a re look on this non era acc. aspect of game.

you know, uosa, if a day i do not come to play on that shard, i will just thihnk of you as the badest experiment made on a forum-shard. why don't you go to play with your mate instead of thinking being the smart guy of the story in every occasion?

At least, just learn that you make my game suddenly really less interesting

Dont let them get under ur skin about using the help function. It is looked down at when your not realy stuck tho

and i dont beleive Chaos was implying that you are not using the right client, but merely saying why the help stuck function is even here

@Groucho, what Chaos means is, if you are using a client other than the official UOSA client, then you may come across map errors that will cause your character to become stuck, as in physically incapable of moving. This is the real reason for the Help-Stuck feature.

@everyone else, I understand this is not the intended use of the Help-Stuck feature. But tell me honestly, if you were trapped there, with no one helping, and no one responding, how long would you have stood there twiddling your thumbs before resorting to using it? HONESTLY?

It's not like anyone's gonna just happen to walk by. He was at the main entrance if I'm not mistaken. How many people actually use the main entrance to a dungeon here? Everyone just recalls in to their favorite spot, then recalls out.

He made the request for help, no one answered. I couldn't get in game to help him, as I wasn't at my computer. I was checking the forum on my phone, as I so often do. I saw his cry for help and waited to see if anyone would answer. No one did.

I offered the next best solution.

My question to you is, What would you like him to do next time, when no one is answering is cry for help? How long should he stand there, trapped, before he decides that this shard sucks and he leaves forever? Because that's what's going to happen. He's not just going to stand there patiently waiting for hours for someone to log in who will help out.

I'm not saying you should be able to use this whenever you want to, I'm just saying take it easy in this case. Retract the claws a bit.

Instead of advicing to use the help stuck option, maybe advice him to get into irc and ask like most ppl do?

heres a idea you have 3 accounts go to town and find someone to ask for a gate off, or another option being don't go to places you cant get out of on a island in the first place. if you don't have a guild/yourself/someone else to get you out of the situation that you got your self into.
