Small Vendor house 1 screen from yew gate

Post by Stonewilled »

This auction is for a small located 1 screen northeast of the yew moongate, right next door to the world famous hangman's gamble. An amazing spot for any young aspiring merchant.

The bidding will start at deed + 5k. No bids will be accepted unless they are atleast 5k higher than the current maximum bid.

The deal will be brokered.

Buyout is deed + deed. Happy bidding.

I own the Hangman's Gamble and this area does in fact get high traffic.

This price is a steal.

Man if I didn't already have another Yew gate house to use I'd be all over this for that price .. I know for a fact that I had sold well over a million worth (Kegs and Regs back then) at that house within the first 3weeks and I was first vendor in that spot.

So apparently I won this via buyout, nay?

I contact the seller, and meet him in game.

He then tells me "the plans have changed". And brings me to a different house, claims it is closer, and offers the same price.

I was hesitant at first, so his "friend" recalls in and shouts "HEY I WANT THIS HOUSE".

They both go to the bank. I, knowing this is a scam in progress, hop their gate and say "I'll pay more".

He comes back through the gate, and asks how much more. I say ZERO more, i won the bid give me the house. He then proceeds to ask "but you said more!!!!!!". I told him i knew it was a scam to try to get me to pay more than the auction, and I wouldn't pay more than I won the auction for. I then told him to sell it to the other guy that was offering more, which was his friend that recalled in to try to play me and jack up the price. He obviously had no interest in selling it to his friend and begged me to buy it.

Obviously this was a scam in progress. The deal did not go down, he had no intention of using a broker AS SAID, his friends posting to this forum were obviously eager to tell everyone how good of a deal it was.

After I told him it was ILLEGAL to scam through the forums, and that he could get banned, his only response was SERIOUSLY? IS THIS TRUE????? His friend that was with him, kept shouting profanities, while he ran into his house and logged off.

He was obviously scared that scamming through the forums could result in a ban, and this guy is out to get your money, and so are the people who originally responded to this post to talk it up.

The two in-game guys were

HAVOK, and SPACECAT

I would appreciate it if a GM were to watch over these guys to make sure that they do not try to scam via the forums anymore.

Thank you in advance.

I would advise not dealing with this Secondagerares guy, unless he learns to calm down.

Stonewilled and myself were in the middle of ironing out a deal for a couple of Yew houses when this guy comes rushing in yelling something about "the house belongs to me" followed by a bunch of insane accusations.

Secondagerares, I expressed interest in this house and began discussion far before you did. I laid out a nice offer that you could consider more then the buyout price, which was my Yew House for his, plus gold. Don't get all worked up over pixels bro.

Thank you for the house Stonewilled, when it finally came down to the trade, and this lunatic stopped ranting, it went very smooth. Would trade again.

Edit: for clarification.

This spot + 15k....

Ok, I don't really know how secondagerares has come up with this story. The thing I asked, "Is this true?" to, was the fact that I had not ended an auction when I received a buyout bid when in fact it was over. If SAR had listened to what I was asking Rose, he'd have known that. I did ask him to come see the house I was in the middle of trading for with Rose, and offered him the same price for it.

And as for the scared part.. I did run in my house and log off, but not before stating "I need to restart". My Case fan started making a horrible noise.

And Secondagerares, I am not a scammer; I was not trying to scam you out of anything; I don't know if you could find a single other person who would call me a scammer.

I appreciate your clarification of the event, but the whole "the deal has changed" thing, was totally sketchy, and downright deceitful.

Also, who owns the two story near the gate? Your screenshot of the 2 story was totally misleading. You should take a SS of your own property and post that in the future. Taking a screenshot of a GREAT property, and saying "this is awesome, but i'm selling a house to the north of it!!" is totally an attempt to lowball newer players that do not know any better.

Thanks for the clarification though.

Just my 2 cents :D

And Rose, you were on screen for a full 5 seconds, do not attempt to make this look like a larger deal than it was. In fact, he lost out, as we were willing to pay much more than you could offer; considering we did not want to make this into a vendor house looking to "make our money back"; we were willing to take a great loss. Kudos to you though. We are still neighbors though, literally :D
