Im old I forget

The code that was e-mailed to me when I started my account is to be typed in as a command. . . I forget how/what a command is & works. I'm also hazy on starting a 2nd toon. Do I just open a 2nd account and link them by way of my e-mail?
Lastly UO on the road? I'm a mover and live in a truck about 200 days a year. I've never taken a laptop with me before, but now I have UO again, I want a LT I can play UO on but don't want to spend a ton on a laptop that will bang around in a hot/cold wet/dusty truck. Anyone having good luck playing on a budget laptop & WiFi?

Well, it would be best if it were a Windows laptop. The system requirements for UO aren't high at all, so you can probably not worry too much on the specs of the laptop. The biggest thing for you is durability, but I would say just be careful with it and try not to get it wet, etc. and it might be fine. Watch out for humidity, too. Anyway, those phone companies also have internet cards that you can plug into your laptop. Verizon Wireless being an example. I'm not sure on their prices, though. But getting WiFi that way means you can get it almost anywhere. However, you could also take advantage of cafes and such that has free wireless internet.

But a budget for a nice computer than will run UO and then much more, along with accessible wireless, isn't too large. Certainly under a thousand bucks, quite possibly under $700, even.

EDIT: I'm sure everyone has their view of Dell, but dell.com often has really nice deals on refurbished laptops and some that are simply on sale, but brand new.

Look for an e-mail from "SecondAge" - the command in game is [auth #### (obviously I don't know the number in the e-amail)

I play via wi-fi and have no problem. I am not entering in any tourney's tho - wi-fi should not be as reliable as a direct LAN connection. Pretty certain somewhere on this site I read that.

I also have a laptop and play on the road without issue. Mine is an HP that cost about 900 bucks 2 years ago, certainly not top of the line. And I agree with Sanctum, Dell Refurbished stuff is probably some of the best deals out there for price/quality.

I play exclusively on a laptop and I have no problems. Would be sweet in your case, wireless works fine as well.

Sorry I wasn't clear .. I'm saying get a cheap laptop if your only goal is to play a 10plus year old game .. If you get a second hand laptop I always rec. that you reinstall any OS .. WindowsXP happens to just be a very common easy to get OS that does not have a lot of the hang ups and needed tweaks to get UO working.

Sorry for any confusion caused on my part.

P.S. yes I know I put in the code not #### thanks for the help hope to be in game in the truck within a fue weeks.

Buy yourself a netbook. UO runs great and you can probably find a good one for less than $350.

I have an EEE PC, UO runs great on it, I use it when I'm traveling with an external mouse

A netbook will run it fine but the complaints I have about mine are the screen size/resolution as far as having extra space for health bars, uoam, etc and lack of a number pad cutting down on bindable hotkeys. I'd def look into a laptop with a number pad and higher resolution than 1200x600.

I play UO on this:

Runs great!

Just kidding, but my 6 yr old laptop and my parents crappy DSL seemed to handle it just fine (as, per my brother, did a 3G connection). I probably wouldn't go out and PvP though, or try to hit the bottom level of a dungeon.
