Post by spamalot »

i've just spent an hour trying to place a small house. is it just me or is, like, all the real estate in the entire game taken?

There's tons of spots near Skara Brea and I even saw a few potential spots left on Moonglow. Could be wrong about Moonglow, but definitely check out the Skara Brea area.

Hi, I will be more helpful to you.

Look at your UO game window. It has a small brown border around the outside.

If you click-hold on the border you can drag the game window.

Drag the game window to the top left corner of the screen, so it aligns perfectly in the top left corner.

If the game window is not perfectly in place, and you try to place a house, then the game is trying to place the house where the actual game window is - not where your misaligned game window shows it is being placed.

Also, houses must have 5 squares including steps in front and back, and you must be able to walk around the entire house with no obstructions like trees.

I usually see small spots in woods East of Skara, near Covetous/cove area, and on some islands. I hate the jungles, and swamps but I wouldnt be surprised if there are a good many there. There really are a lot of spots. in fact some j@<k@$$ just placed a small in my front yard!!! he will pay for ruining my green lawn...

Also, some dirt patches are actually road patches and ruin placement. BUT some flowers, rocks, and plants can placed over. Also make sure nobody has a ghost there holding the spot. And of course lead off any critters and dont kill anything there. Also casting polymorph and incognito gain you +1 to placement speed.
