hello everyone
i have been messing around with the npc fighters for about 30 minutes now, and i cant seem to get the npc to not attack. i feel like i have tried everything people in irc have told me, and what is mentioned in the forums.
i hired what i think to be a paldin. i have done the following, but the npc has still attacked me
first, i attacked it, said all guard me. failed attempt.
i have said all guard me, then attacked it. failed attempt.
i went into a hiding state, attacked it. waited about 20 to 30 seconds. failed attempt.
i attacked it, said all stop, all guard me. failed attempt.
if i am doing something wrong please let me know, this has been a waste of 30 minutes, and annoying.
thank you

Well before you would have said all guard me attacked it then said all stop but now they will autodefend no matter what so you need two healers. Humanoid monsters are cheaper

But in raising healing even tame a giant scorpion or giant spider and it will help you raise healing fast as long as they have 60ish 70ish healing due to the fact of poisoning.
Beware though, I had two healers and one vet, Two healers were healing my friend and the vet the spider. When his armor wore off and the spider gained in skill, there was no way to keep him healed quick enough all the time.
Those things can be nasty if you train them right. He only had 74 strength at death but it seemed that spider was knocking him down in two-three hits.
*The spider was released in the Minoc area about two days ago so be warned.

Here's the process:
Hire an npc
Tell him all follow me
Lead it to a location where there is a barrier - shops work well
Tell it all stay
Walk around the barrier and enter war mode
Hide
Attack
Now tell it all follow me and you'll be hitting it but it won't fight back. Just don't leave war mode or attack again...

Two other options are:
1.- Say all stay, attack, and cast invis on yourself (or have someone cast invis on you).
2.- Trap the paladin with boxes, say "all guard me", attack, without tabbing out, say "all follow me" and run about a screen away and come back. You should be attacking him, but he should not be hitting you. If he is still hitting you run a bit further. If you are not hitting him, start again but run a bit closer.

The 2nd one is how I do it, it works, I just did it last night.
