UO Second Age

Need help with a town thief, but I get stuck after the main four. I ain't looking to leave town much, so thinking that Resist prolly won't be much use.

How come no stealth?

Depends what kind of thief you want. If you want to be able to fight back when someone attacks you, then a temp like malaikat can work. You don't stand a chance in a fight if you aren't mounted, and you can't stealth when mounted.

If you want to stealth into people's houses or around dungeons, grab things, and run away, then I would use:

Snoop
Steal
Hiding
Stealth
Magery
Wrestling
Meditation or Resist

There is some debate on that last skill, but I think more people recommend med.

There is a good town thief build?

They way I see it is you arent going to have anything on you as a town thief...at all... so you will be basically stealing from people recalling and afkers right? Otherwise if the guards dont get you the players will. Being grey on foot is no laughing matter
So for the three hundred extra points for a stealth town thief I would pick...

Wrestling
Detect Hidden
Magery 70
Tracking 30

Unless you trust someone well enough to hand you your regs, you have 14 newbie slots that you change weekly for newbie regs, or stash your stuff where someone can find it that you may not get to in time...chances are you will be running around practically naked as a town thief.

yea, I've abandoned this character idea. Decided to stick with seafaring templates: Treasure hunters, a Fisherman, and Pirates.

makes sense...that way you can just beg for more gold for regs each time you are guardwhacked.
