2. What is skill gain like?
3. Can you recall/gate after attacking someone?

Yes, you can macro legally by being at the screen or afk. However, you cannot macro gathering resources while afk, but you can while being at the screen.

As for skill gain i think it is MUCH faster than t2a... You can GM a mage in 2-4 nights of AFK Macroing and 40-50k.

Maybe my memory is off but i dont think it was even CLOSE to that fast. Even when 8x8 was introduced (no 8x8 here) i dont think it was that fast/cheap.

It seemed to only take about 3-4 hours of sparing with a char who has 100 dex to goto from 30 fence to 100. The tank he was sparing (25 dex) went to 80 swords in the same time.

Again, this seems much faster than OSI from my memory.

Hope you like it here!

That seems extremely fast on skill gain. I have not heard reports of gm magery in that kind of time, although the gold cost does seem ballpark.

The skill gains on here is by far much easier than it was back in the day for me.

I could see magery being gm'd in about 3-4 days depending on a fully consistent flow of regs coming in with no down time at all on here. I am currently macroing magery at the moment, and I am at 88 after two non-full days of gaining it. A weapon skill I could gm in 1-2 nights no problem. Tactics on the other hand is much harder and takes anywhere from 2-4 days depending on the amount of dex the character has. I remember it taking me nearly a month back then just to gm magery with almost no downtime. It was much harder to gain weapon skills also during t2a. Most people went to the BK room for this, so it would take at least around 5-10 days for GM'ing a combat skill and tactics depending on how much effort and time you put into it. If not a lot than even longer than that.

Skills gaining passively and specific skills having half the delay that it had back then also makes things go much quicker. All passive skills such as anatomy, eval, med, and so forth wasn't implemented until a couple months before UOR's release. I GM'd med in one night while macroing stats and eval all at the same time without even using the skill.

Well, im about to take magery from 50-100 on my tank. I will keep an exact $$ and time count.

THe first char i created (bard) gm'ed magery in no more than 3-4 days. (of course this was after i had regs and money)

GM Med is one night of macroing taking a wizard hat on and off and see-sawing to 100x25x100 only take an hour or so.

I think a char with 100x25x100 and reags could go from 50-100 magery in 48 hours or less of afk macroing...

When i type that 48 hours sound like a long time but with work and sleep macroing (7-5 & 11-7) it is almost too easy...

I think one reason it is soo easy is i never was able to make money as quick as i can here.

It does give me concerns about keeping my interest in the game with skill gains so fast but the point of all this macroing was to get to PvP... We will see!

I will say, i remember everything about the night my first char went from 99.9 to 100 magery on Pacific... It kind of goes without saying this experience was nothing like that.

Im not kidding in saying 95 dex char went from 30 fencing to 100 in less than 4 hours of sparing. that seems very very fast... Tactics took another day of sparing just to go from 95
to 100.

I started Sunday night with a dexer (95 dex)with 30 fence 30 tacts and 100 healing and 100 anat vs a tank (25 dex) with 30 tacts 0 swords o wrestle. Probably 2k total bandages.

Tuesday night I had GM Fence Gm tacts on the dexter and GM Swords along with GM wreslte and GM tacts on the tank.

All done in afk macro sunday night/monday day time / monday night / tuesday day time.

If we used the advancement rates that OSI used back then there would be a whole lot of people crying, literally.

I hear you.. and I enjoy the current skill rates.. but I think I did literally cry when I gm'd magery on Pacific.. it was a happy day.

i dont think there is anything wrong with skill gain here. on OSI i made several PVP characters and none ever took me a full week to 7x GM. i think one of the reasons people are gaining skill faster these days is just due to the fact that "efficient" macroing is more common these days. back in early t2a OSI days people were using some pretty half assed programs to macro with, and were not efficiently working the skill timers and things of that sort. i had a poison dexxer on OSI that i 7x'ed in about 6 days. that was back when poisoning was regarded as one of the toughest and most expensive skills to GM in the game.

i have not yet GM'ed magery on this server, but if poeple are saying 60k that seems about right too. i remember spending about 90k on OSI to GM magery and that was before i really knew what to macro for optimum gains. i was wasting alot of regs. so far from what i have seen here gains seem perfectly accurate to me.

just out of curiosity how much on average do people spend to GM resist on this server? i do remember spending about 100-110k on OSI getting gm resist on a dexxer char i had (using a friends mage to do the casting).

The skill gains here are absolutely way faster than OSI in T2A. I joined the server last week, and in about ~10 hours I've got a GM swords, master tactics, master anatomy, all from 0. I was only 14 when I did this on OSI's servers... but I remember it taking weeks, at least.

Edit: Way faster, yet still not out of control, like many other free shards.
