suggestions on my thief?

So here's the big question, to stealth or not to stealth. I'm making a dexer thief, and stealth is definately awsome, but I wouldn't have room for tactics if I picked it up.

gm mace
tactics
healing
anat
snoop
steal
hide

or
mace
healing
anat
snoop
steal
hide
stealth.

I've already got gm mace, and close to gm tactics, but stealth is still 0. Any Suggestions? thanks

Why not go with GM:

-Mace
-Tactics
-Healing
-Stealing
-Snooping
-Hiding
-Stealth

This brings up the question which is better to have, Tactics or Anatomy? While keeping stealth, which I think is a must have skill for a thief, you have to compromise without one.

Anatomy adds 2% damage per 10pts of a melee skill, while tactics I believe is needed to actually raise the % of hitting your opponent. I will set a poll asking which would you sacrifice Tactics or Anatomy?

most thiefs operate in town and so have little use for resist!

Yes. This is the dexer-thief template. Not taking tactics would make your weapon skill pretty much worthless. You don't want stealth no a dexxer thief since you'll need to be on a horse to be effective with melee.

With the magic damage changes in town, you might drop resist if you plan to stay in town all the time. You could add:

Magery: For heals, cures and even summons.

Parry: For an extra edge against dexxers.

Hiding: To be a jerk.

Archery: eh

Poisoning: To mess with dexxers some more

If I were gonna do one of these, I'd do hiding just because it's funny to hide in a fight.

Tactics enhances damage, not how often you hit. Only a weapon skill raises your chance to hit with that particular type of weapon. The most you can get out of anatomy is a 20% bonus to damage and tactics offers a 150% bonus at max.

just something to throw out there for you guys thinking about starting dexxer thieves. i believe on this server, if you steal an item from a player, and they attack you, if you kill them you will get a murder count and be kicked out of the thieves guild. this would mean u can no longer steal from other players until your murder count is purged.

i just recently started here myself and this is the way it was explained to me. someone please correct me if i am wrong. hopefully someone with a little more experience here then me can confirm this.

But I believe ClowN to be correct on the murder count thing, if I kill anyone who i've stolen from I will be removed from thieves guild.

Also, the main purpose of me having anatomy is to be able to cure, heal and res, efficiently, am I misinformed, is anat only used for bonus damage in t2a? If it's only a damage bonus, then it's definately getting dropped. The whole idea is to create a thief with maximum survivability, if running through a dungeon I can fight a few monsters, or if being attacked I should be able to survive long enough to get away and hide.

also, since this is my first and only real char on this shard, gming magery isn't viable right now, so magic resist is out as well. (unless someone wants to give me 100k :))

This is my thief's 7x build. i love being able to stealth around but you will never kill anyone with it. i usually end up stam locking them, stealing their aids/regs first and then stealing everything else they have before i come even close to killing them.

Also, Clown is wrong. As a dexxer thief ive been attacked while perma grey and killed them. When they attack you they turn gray and lose the option of giving you a count

in terms of counts.
i am not sure if this has been implimented yet
but it all depends on if you steal the item successfully
-if you are successful, ie not detected and they attack you. you can retaliate.
-if they notice you stealing ie a message says so... they can attack and will remain blue to you, and thus you cant retaliate without a penalty of a count...
