Event: Rabid Panthors - January 14th 8pm CST

Post by Panthor the Hated »

(Let's pretend the Panthors are still in bux, cuz I dropped the ball on this and it has dragged out longer than the spawn was intended to last).

There have been reports that wild Panthors have been seen nesting in Buccaneers Den. Initially they were passive however after a day of settling in they suddenly became aggressive to adventures visiting the pirate town.

Strangely, these terrifying creatures had empty plates on their corpses. Given that these were not found on the slain beasts before they turned aggressive, they are most likely related to their sudden change in attitude.

The number of cats has been steadily increasing over the past several days and Lord Blackthorne's soothsayer corps have suggested at this rate the Panthor's will reach critical mass sometime tomorrow. When they are able to pin down a specific time all citizens will be notified.

Update: This event will begin in Buccaneer's Den at around 8pm CST (6pst, 7mst, 9est)

OOC:

This is a farewell event, to some degree. I will be taking an extended break from UO following this event.

First: Thanks very much to Yoda for making this event happen. It was an incredible success, based almost entirely on his efforts. Thank you to MrLotto and MatronDeWinter as well for help with some of the initial planning of this event.

The Panthor uprising has been quelled thanks to many brave warriors answering the call to defend the pirate town of Buccaneer's Den. It seems the Murderer Panthor had been feeding these powerful beasts tainted milk from Canada which lead to increased strength, magic ability and rabidness.

Thank you to all the brave adventures that came to save us from this menace.

I killed all the red panthors one day in bucs. they had lich loot and also when clicked the corpse would say a lich corpse. Was an easy 15k worth of panthors :)

Did you really? Can you post a screeny?

I wasn't sure if it existed or not. Initially it was intended to be a bag of tainted milk, but I'm not sure how that would work.

I don't think milk can taint if it is in a bag. It's a Canadian trade secret.
