Order Shields?

I joined the Serpants Hold warrior order guild thing and have since learned you can get a shield for doing so. However when I ask a guard for my shield they always tell me "First you must join an order". When I try to join a new order it always tells me "First you must leave your current order before joining" or something like that.
What am I missing?
TIA

You need to be in a Player Guild that is factioned "Order" (for an order shield), or "Chaos" (for a chaos shield). The "Warriors" guild only gives you discounts with the various warrior NPC/Vendors. To get an Order Shield you have to join a player guild that is order, which makes you attackable to anyone else who is Order/Chaos.

And how does one go about finding these player guild "orders" to join? Sounds interesting.

Well, players can purchase a guildstone from the provisioner. They can then place one in a house they own and recruit people to their guild. These guilds are the letters and acronyms you are seeing above peoples heads sometimes. Not all guilds are for fighting, some players have crafting guilds like $$$, some are roleplayers, and others are thief or adventurer guilds like cA and C^V.

The T2A Wiki (there is a link on forums and the main page) has a ton of information, but I don't see an entry for player guilds for some reason. I'll write one when I get the chance. You can get quick answers to these questions in irc though, by following this link.
