Anyone Remember Me From Baja?

Post by Divinity »

I played characters like Gluestick, Duckworth and a divine player... I want to start a t2a shard and im told this the best one atm?
I got a few questions..

1.Mounts?
2.Red system? Allowed in towns? Bounties?
3.Staff?
4. Accuracy? Based on some of the ages given i doubt some people can answer this..
5.Online players daily? Not clients..
6.Pvp? How much? Templates used?
7.Events? They are exactly the same as the runuo network.. (Koth, bombing run, ctf) Why? How often? etc..

Depending on answers ill prolly be seeing you around :)

I played on Chesapeake and Catskills (briefly) so not sure who you are. I'm fairly new so I'll do my best to answer your questions.

1) Yes

2) Yes, No, Yes

3) Very active and yes

4) Accuracy I am assuming how accurate the shard is on emulating that era with the timeframe... I'd say they work very hard on having it accurate to the T.

5) I see LOADS of online players. Not just clients, but lotsa players. More than most of the other shards I have seen out there.

6) PvP, yes I have seen quite a bit, but not sure how much as I'm new. The template I have heard that is most popular is the Tank Mage (believe that is the name... the Hally using mage basically). You can find more in the Guides section. I won't be using this template though.

7) I think this question is better for someone else.

uo is meant to be played with mounts, theyre in.
reds arent allowed in towns. long terms = 40 hours, short terms (give statloss) = 8 hour decays.
staff kicks ass in every way.
accuracy... seems to be the staffs main goal, so its pretty damn accurate.
when it shows around 260 players, it feels like at least 150+ players (not clients) cuz people all over the place.
pvp is still growing, there are probably more like 3-4 guilds with 2+ players running around fighting. pking is probably the easiest way to find fights (people in dungeons pvm all the time)
events are run daily they have a schedule on myuosa site. usually around 8-10PM EST. some in morning too

hope u stay.

Thanks for the great and complementary answers guys.
at 12:57pm Eastern this is our client and unique ip connection count:

We just hit a new client peak of 302 last night, but I didn't look to see how many unique Ip's that represented.

About 2 - 3 months ago I started freeshard hunting again as I got tired of all the current play to pay MMO's. I'd rather donate and such instead of paying for some old tired style that I've already played countless times before. I tried quite a few and even got fairly established on one (Angel Island) even though I hated some major key factors about it. I thought that was my final resting place. THEN I find this gem. I dropped my GM Blacksmith and my houses and gave it all away and left for here. And I will never look back to anywhere/anyone else.

Faust, from Baja. Guilds such as Patryns, Warlocks, Mals, -7-, RR, and LoD. This is the only t2a shard that is worth playing right now, and by far the most accurate that has exist. I hope a lot more Baja people decide to start playing on here.

I know a lot of LoD was playing divinity for sometime. I think the majority of them quit though because it sucked. Hopefully they'll come play here eventually.

1) Yes, without one you will hate how long traveling takes and killing someone will be hard since they can run out of your screen before you get your cursor.

3) The staff here is the most helpful and most devoted staff I have ever come across on a shard.

4) This is the best and most accurate shard available.

5) I see more and more players each and every day. I am starting to get the feelings I used to have when UO was released.

6)PVP is great here. Very accurate for the era and they are always perfecting everything to be accurate. Guilds are growing and more people are interacting as of late.

Oh, I almost forgot. I played baja a little bit when UO came out. I was Mean Devil of R^E (Razor's Edge) I ran with King_Megabyte and BloodRed (both my neighbors)

I played on Baja and I do remember LoD. I can't seem to remember the names of either of the guilds I was in, however.

I was in LoD, we quit divinity not because it sucked.. It was a great server, with the release of new games.. Everyone followed their own path.. Some stayed on Divinity, others went to hybrid, others to AOC, and some are still waiting for Darkfall *laughs*

Well that wasn't what I heard...

[LoD]Rainman wrote: Well here is the REALLY crazy thing that utterly blows my mind. I can understand him not having the timers 100% correct. However, you would think they would try to emulate it as best as possible. All the information I know I got off archive.org from uo.stratics.com in 1998.

So here is the crazy part. They have the exact 100% '98 t2a timers and damages. TO fuck with our heads they even put it up on test center one day and it was awesome. They got it from the UO demo that came with a select amount of T2A release disks. It is PERFECT. No syncing, proper damage and spells. It felt really good. Then they never put it on at all! WTF is wrong with these guys? This is suppose to be a T2A server and they keep making it more and more UOR. That's why the population dropped from 1200 to 500
Divinity is a god awful shard by far. I hung around there during the beginning trying to assist them but it was futile. That is why I never even made a character. It was simply a waste of my time. You know it has to be bad if you go from 1000 clients to 200 and below. It followed the typical path that all T2A shards have all done in the past.
