Question about rares

How do the rares work on this server?
I started playing UO back in 99, quit playing in 2007. During that time a acquired a large rare collection. This being my first time playing a Free shard, I was wondering how the rules surrounding rares went?
In the day rares were classified in many different ways. First you had your server birth rares. Items that could be acquired from the creation of a new server. Then you had rares that fell into a certain spawn rate. They could be classified as weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and even yearly. Then you had your daily rares. Now some rares like the deck of playing cards, hand of playing cards, chess pieces, horse dung and ceramic mug were once daily rares, then OSi removed them from spawning daily. Finally you had items know as event rares. Items like plant deeds and Phoenix armor were from clean up Britannia. Other items like the green mug, lump of coal, spam, and easter eggs to name a few, were from Holiday events.
Now the reason I ask about rares, is I have looked around and have seen a few vendors. Items like deck of cards, Pewter bowl, and ceramic mugs are for sale on these vendors. Then I have seen items like skull mug, furs, bloody bowl, old Necro regents and even Phoenix armor locked down in houses. Are the rares daily or semi spawning? Are items like Phoenix armor gifts from GMs? I'm just curious as to how they are acquired. Long ago, Markeedragon use to have an awesome database on all the rares in UO, are all those items obtainable here? Again I'm very curious, I really lost an interest in UO due to the decline in my mind. Yet today when I signed up and started playing, it felt like I was back in 1999, the joy and fun has come back. I'd really love to hear some feedback on this. Rares were something I really enjoyed collecting, and seeing how the server economy isn't out of whack, seems possible to get into again.
