food in events Derrick?

Post by draggle »

So why is it that food can continuously be eaten in an event? it takes stamina right out of it giving a huge edge to casters. i understand that it doesn't consume the food when you eat, but you shouldn't always be hungry? Maybe start at an empty stomach or something so they have a fair amount of stam to regain. But when fights last 5 minutes its just unfair that they never get stam locked for us to finish them! its comparable to removing the cooldown on yellow pots in events that allow them. As a dexxer, 1v1 tourney's are given to casters!!

**im not angry. just had a frustrating loss in a 1v1 tourney > {

food was/is the simplest solution for macers in a 1v1 event..
you missed the macer/wrestler craze by a few weeks, it was way too uneven without pots OR unlimited food, and nobody thought pots were fair so we got the latter.
the advantage isn't gone: many people dont eat often/dont create food/dont have magery

I'm not talking about newb's at Brit GY i'm talking about seasoned PvPers in events. everyone has food, if you don't i'm not talking to you... That is why players should start at starving letting them eat 5-6 times, how is it fair for a dexxer who now has to stop for his swing timer to constantly chase a mage?

Adapt and overcome my friend. Looks like its time to learn real pvp and make a mage eh? Learn to use more buttons than dbl click and chase...

This was put in a few months ago and I think it's open to reevaluation given the new combat system timers introduced a couple weeks ago. Previous to the not getting full at all in events, we did start everyone off with an empty stomach at the beginning of each tournament match.

I do events with 7x mage also. yea eating is nice, but if you cant kill a dexxer in the first few minutes, you should not be able to just run around until you finally get that lucky hally hit or katana dbl swing. I vote starting with an empty stomach, especially with the new timer changes. If not maybe make food expendable in events? make them carry the 300 fish steaks they will go through in one event!

**it was also kyndrith (above) who i lost to in the 5 minute 1v1 because he kept eating... =/

yea you must have missed the 35 minute duels at each tourny before hand. and im not exagerating. duels came down to whoever was playing their macer dexxer
and then the marathon was on, the food seems to have done a fairly good job of fixing that

Doesn't make sense to have macing weapons do their strength and not let swords/fencing weapons use DP. If you are going to allow no dex regen then you should also allow dp. Either way I think that some dude running around on his macer and then crying that he lost in a skilled 1v1 tournament is pretty lame. You want to win because you maced me down to no dex by dbl clicking and chasing me?

Sound like you just want the easy way out. Learn to play your mage and you will never want to use ur dexer again in a tourney I promise you that.

maybe you should learn to play your mage and down a dexxer in less then 5 minutes? im just saying it sounds like all you want to see playing this game (in events or out in the world) are hally/kat mages? right now every event policy favors that, but, unfortunately, there is more to the game than that.

Not to mention dexers are the lazy mans pvper. Now you want to be even lazier. Instead of dbl click and chase now you bitch and want to be able to just dbl click. No chase now with no stam! Lets make it even better lets make macing weapons kill in one shot if the user has 100 dex and the person you are hitting has less than 100 dex! Now you can get those lame mages!

The reason there are so many kat/hally mages is because it works. If they take the raod you want everyone will be a macer dexer then. Your logic makes absolutely no sense. You just want the char YOU play to be the best build, but its not sorry.

You complain about too many hally/kat mages, but vote to put in something that would make everyone a macer dexer...Good thinking.

There is more diversity in char builds NOW as is than the way you propose to have things. Think things through.

hally mages are the best on this server, beacuse this server is accurate, and hally mages rocked t2a. macer dexxers are powerful enough they dont need any more help. ive won many tournament on my macer on a computer that i cant really use my mouse, already powerful enough.

Anecdotal evidence of "I can do it, why can't you" doesn't really have a place here.

He is correct in that there is an imbalance, though it is a era accurate imbalance. I doubt much will get changed, except perhaps using fish steaks when eaten. This at least only seems fair.
Noone ran around in T2A with unlimited fish steaks, never becoming full.

No one played completely automated tournaments and events with a trophy system in T2A, either, but they are a cornerstone of this shard.

I'd personally prefer to have this left alone, but making food consumable with no eating limit is a decent compromise.
