How do I sell anything here?

I am having a very hard time finding other players who will buy anything here, I've posed that I am selling wood boards in the forum and didn't even get a single reply.
So, is there a method I am missing or is there almost no economy here?

Join #secondagetrade in IRC if you haven't already.
Also, a commodity such as boards doesn't tend to sell very well unless it's a large supply (10k+ usually). Part of that is because boards are available from vendors in small amounts if players need a small amount for something.
Most people are pretty self-sufficient when it comes to resources, so there isn't a huge market for it. Rares, housing and magic weapons are the big money-makers here if you're looking to sell something.
Good luck.

lol I was going to say "vendor sell"
...
But regarding the economy: I've seen quite a few transactions of bulk resources and crafted items (scrolls, spellbooks, potions), and reagents. Perhaps boards isn't what people really need? Ingots always sell. It's always easy to find buyers on #secondagetrade. =) patience, friend!

I still haven't even had 1 reply, and I've tried the #secondagetrade twice and it seemed very dead.

You may be trying the hailing frequency at the wrong hour. It varies in activity throughout the day. But what others have said above is true. You may wish to look into putting those boards to use yourself and making a carpenter or tinker, I hear locked boxes are selling like hotcakes lately. Else, you can usually find a pretty good market for furniture if you set up a vendor. Or, just make a bard or a dexer to gather wealth before making a crafter, but what do I know--I don't do any of this, I skipped the basic crafting for warp quantum mechanics, LOL!
