Stealing with armor on, attacking thieves, more

Post by Dagon »

Thieves Guild, new skills, and more Feb 24 1999 1:06PM
The more armor you are wearing, the harder it will be to steal.

not sure if anything like this is implemented here.. there are a number of armored dexer thieves

also

Members of the Thieves Guild can be attacked with impunity, because they are not allowed to report anyone for murder.

not sure if this is implemented.. if you just randomly kill a thief character can he report you? it's not qualified as only when they are perma grey or anything

additional note for victims "Victims of thieves can feel free to attack them, as they will not go gray for attacking a thief who has stolen from them in the last two minutes" so previous note does not apply only to victims.... any random blue thief, non perma grey, can be attacked freely.

Mini-update with small fixes Feb 26 1999 11:25AM
You will only be able to steal specific items from enemy guild members, instead of only being able to random steal from them.

implemented?

Thieves (guilded) cannot give murder counts.
Anyone can attack a perma-grey/grey thief.

I'm pretty sure the Armor thing is added as well. I know that it was talked about a long time ago, but I just never wear enough armor to test/worry about it.

Specific items from enemy guild-members, I believe is in as well. Not that any thief is going to be in a war guild though lol.

It does not specify perma grey though, it says any thief can be attacked.

Any thief can be attacked with impunity from murder counts - whether the thief is perma-gray or not.

FYI, this does not mean he still cannot call the guards on you in town.

If he is not perma, he most certainly can call the guards. Attacking a guilded, but otherwise innocent thief, will make you grey.

It still does not say an innocent, non-criminal (either grey or perma grey) thief. It says any character in the thief's guild.

Yes blue in town is still a guard whack, but outside of town this note seems to say anything goes when it comes to thieves. Matron obviously has no interest in seeing this patch note go to accurate live status, but it doesn't make it any less valid of a patch.

It already is live. You can murder non-perma thieves all you like. It will still flag you grey. Nothing Matron said was wrong.
<green> grats pink and co. .... the 3 of you f---ing scrubs together can blow up a bard. IMPRESSIVE

'Impunity' here means 'without getting a murder count'. It doesn't mean without going gray.

Comments like those made in the latter half of this thread are completely unproductive to the topic at hand and the stuff of the Trash Talk section. As such, I've moved the offending posts there.
