I am new to this shard and have been mining like crazy to support me buying a house and the advancement of my characters. As of late, I noticed a change in mining so I went looking around to see what's up and found the above quote. Mining so far, from what I've noticed, is pretty much every 8 tiles you get about 16 ore no matter where you are. Now it seems that I am getting a lot less since this change. Can anyone help explain this change for me?# World resources:
* All resources in the map are now calculated on the available resources within the map.
* This most significantly impacts Mining and Lumberjacking. For example a small stone outcrop in the forest, or a tree in the middle of an otherwise empty field will yield a more expected number of resources (very little).
* The maximum amount of resource that can be found in a vein has increased somewhat. This applies to areas such as caves deep in the heart of a mountain.
* As a result of this, all mining veins have been recalculated, colored ore veins have been scattered.
Can someone clarify for me the world resource change?
Can someone clarify for me the world resource change?
Re: Can someone clarify for me the world resource change?
What it means is that the amount of ore you will now get from an 8x8 resource grid is based on the amount of actual ore bearing material in that map. So a grid that only has a small outcrop of mountain will have much less than an 8x8 filled entirely by mountain.

Re: Can someone clarify for me the world resource change?
I see, so mining deep within a mountain, a cave in particular, (as you stated) you shouldn't even notice a difference? Whereas if you mine along the side of a mountain you depend more on... luck, for lack of a better word, depending on how much of that grid is in the mountain vs. the grass next to the mountain??
Did I get this right?
P.S.
If anyone can offer answers to these more specific questions that would be great:
1) What is the respawn timer on wood/fish/ore/etc..?
2) And does each individual 'spot' have its own specific timer? Or is it a 'group of spots' that respawn together? And if it is a grouped together thing, what kind of grouping is it?

Re: Can someone clarify for me the world resource change?
If 8x8 = 100% ore yielded then 4x4 mountain and 4x4 grass = 50% ore yielded. That's how I understand it?
