All the useful people in irc thanks a bunch (bobdobbs, panthor, dagon, remmy, etc.)

Thanks for the awesome shard Derrick, it was a blast for a while.

Got killed 3v1 with a ghost in the room for the last time.

I used to feel sorry for these people...

Quitting over ghosting and ganking? Relax man, it's just a game. Refresh your horse asap and run. Mini heal until they have to refresh horse and recall. Or die, restock, and move on. Half the time there are like 200 people actually playing. That leaves MASSIVE amounts of open pixel space to run around. I, along with most everyone else, look for people to fight with and can't find them. They are either too busy fighting on the forums, or offline waiting for the next tourney, but thats another issue.

Want protection? Join a decent guild, hop on vent, and call in the troops when the going gets tough.

Survival of the fittest man. Hope you stick around and realize how great this server actually is.

stop playing a multiplayer game liek a single player game and your problems dissappear.

Don't quit the shard, just change the spots you farm at. There are spots with decent loot that aren't ghosted.

To be honest, I didn't sign up for ghosting, nor ventrilo. Never expected people to be talking through those Britney Spears headset microphones to try to kill me.

Vent has been around forever, or at least similar programs. Ghosting is actually a little annoying. I'd like to see PKs get out there and hunt people down more. On the other hand, just hunt somewhere with less traffic.

Well, it wasn't around in 1999 I don't think, was it? I remember ICQ was how most guilds communicated.

Now that I think about it, it's kind of funny... UO in 1999-2000 was the last time I played a video game when it was actually "current". Messed around with a TON of stuff since - mostly well after anyone cared about it anymore... but to say I'm behind the times in this area would be an understatement.

Back in '99 I used to call up my friend on my landline when we were PKing. The earliest form of ventrilo.

I used vent back then, but it was called Battlecom. That was the first voice chat program i knew of. Eventually some other guilds caught up and started using Roger Wilco. Microsoft bought out battlcom and i forgot what they renamed it, but i remember i bought the hardware called sidewinder (http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/feat ... voice.mspx)

Which was a really cool piece of hardware. You could set voice commands for it to recognize for it to play macros. You could set buttons on it so only certain people could hear you talk. I am actually surprised with how big vent is that there is nothing else like it today.

yup one of the things that keep me out also...ghosting and such just sooooo non period. That and care-bearing the pks made it feel very unlike original uo.

Wonder if they could have 1k real account online if they quit catering to the pk kiddie griefers. Others free shards seem to be able to.
Trammel for reds is what its become. Oh wait...they dont even really go red here.
