Vendor Scams!

Post by ApolloX »

:x You ever get scammed by someone's personal vendor? :x

I think it's pretty shiety for someone to do this on a free shard! A small house outside of Yew gate named Dumbledore's Shop or some BS sells "full" runebooks for 7-9K. Well I saved up 7K on my brand new char on my brand new acct. just to buy from this pric. Only to get an empty runebook and an empty bank account:(. I just wanted to make this new topic and encourage all of you to post any and all player vendor scams you find!

Dude that totally sucks! 7200 is way high for a runebook also!
I'd pm Sexy Smithy in the IRC she sells em a lot cheaper like 4200.
I heard there was someone in Yew who sold em for like 3k.

Always use an ID wand on any spellbook before you buy it, be a vendor or player trade.

What was it supposed to be full of? recall charges? Marked Runes? Was it a specific description? Also someone should make a thread on scam vendor locations.

Sounds like you got scammed off of your own bad info. A "full runebook" to me simply means a runebook with the ability to hold 10 charges. I wouldn't even assume it came filled.

Lol for 7200 I'd expect it to be full, fully stocked with recalls too and written in Golden letters...

Your reply doesn't make any sense.

To the OP - it really sucks for you since its pretty hard to make cash right of the bat. It gets easier though once you have a money making template.

Now why would i buy a rune book for 7200 with just charges in it? Of course i thought it was marked with all dungeon runes. Just trying to get a thread out there for those people who got F!#@$@! like me.

I'm assuming its the SAME vendor by Yew that has been doing this. They routinely change there names. Usually its someone prominent or a prominent guild that they use for the house name, but the same thing happens. They sell empty runebooks as fully marked runebooks to various locations. If you search the forums, you will find posts on this vendor under multiple house names.

This is a known scammer. Please do not buy from them. They routinely use other people's good reputations to further their scams.

From those pictures, $$$ merchant ring vendors, Orphic Derenger's, and K^A shops are scammers?

Everyone knows not to trust those seedy merchant-ring guys, and K^A has a vast reputation for being less than reputable. I am however, shocked to see Orphik Derenger joining in on these scams!
