Client doesn't share mixer nicely.

I have all sound disabled.

Usually I have something playing in Winamp. When I minimize, or otherwise put the UO client in the background, all audio cuts out on the system.

Is there a way to make UO not use audio at all? Either that or another workaround I can use?

turn off music/sound in options but leave the volume sliders maxed

although ive not experienced that issue.. i minimize and listen to music just fine

Sounds like a dodgy set of audio drivers.

Whats the Operating system, pc brand and specific model number of the computer?

Homebuilt PC. Sound card is an EMU 1820m.

OK I think I found a workaround, but it's lame. I set my default audio hardware to the built in sound card. Still though, it would be nice if UO didn't take over the windows mixer.

That's really strange... Maybe try using a different mixer?

Edit: If your using Win 7 or Vista Make sure your mixer is set to "Run as administrator" I remembered I had this exact same problem with Ventrillo until I did that.

Like Dagon said, did you only disable the sounds and left the music on? It's the "music module" of the client that plays with the volume levels of the windows mixer.

When I say "I did" I meant I disabled both music and Sound.

I have the same problem, but I "fixed" it by raising the volume sliders to max (I can get more volume if I have UO client up and maxed out on "sound" than if I wouldn't have UO up and running)
Also unchecking the box for sounds.
