Weird behaviour with doors

Post by son »

I have razor auto door open enabled, however it often fails, so I also have open door binded.

Because it often fails, i spam door open.

Well if you spam door open on a door, it will not open at all? Why is this?

Action delay resets on each attempt?

I envision this:

You run through one door. Razor works.
Hit a second door with less than 1 second elapsing. Razor fails, you get the "you must wait" message. one second timer resets.
You hit your hotkey button with less than 1 second elapsing. Fails; you get the "you must wait" message. one second timer resets. Repeat.

That's my assumption based on what I've seen recently.

I have noticed this happening ever since the action delay was added to opening doors. However, this happens even when you do it without the auto open door feature with Razor. I don't use this feature and it still happens when using the standard client version of it. I spam the open door in game macro/hotkey before even being in range of the door out of habit. Doing it this way causes the action delay to trigger and it seems to take a very long time to finally open. For some reason it seems like the packets are being queued and causing an extraordinary delay in the process or something. I'm not quite sure what is going on but it definitely doesn't feel right to me.

I noticed that this will happen if you have more then one client running. Running one and it never happens.

I've had this happening to me since I started a year and a half ago. Resynchronizing the client fixes it for me.

Sometimes doors just don't open with razor auto open regardless of the action delay.

Timer should not reset regardless on a failed action. Though I haven't had any problems with my open door macro (I do spam it), other than sometimes it works more slowly than I'd expect.

I might simply disable auto door open since I almost always spam the hotkey anyway, but I figured something was wrong.

its really annoying, because without auto open doors on (even if you try and time hitting the macro really precisely) there is ALWAYS a short delay before the door will open. like felix said, if you try to spam it sometimes it doesn't work at all.

if you turn auto open on, it seems to open the door instantly as soon as you run into it.. provided it doesn't screw up like it always seems to at the least convenient times.

This garbage happens to me all the time... Its like razor auto open doors just stops working completely.

My solution is to tab... sounds crazy but it works like a charm for me every time. Try it Felix.
