My UO since 1997

Post by hksaga »

I left UO and ran to EQ at around 1997 and I'll say it maybe one of the big mistake in my life.
I tried a few well-known MMO like EQ1, EQ2, Warhammer but there is none of them who is capable to reach what UO capable to do.

I almost forget everything about this game like how to have the magic scroll be learnt into my book, how to set Marco and the command to communciate and so on. I need to play as a newbie again while I remember the life is interesting, I bet you know what I am talking about if you know how crazy the PvP in this game is.

I was in Napa Valley name BMW before but I bet the old friend 13 yrs ago are all gone..........
I just want to cry.

ITS been 13 years and I just found this UO2A stuff last night.
I want to to say thank you to the host and everyone who contribute to this so-called 2age. I am not sure how long I'll stick but I really hope 2A could give me some good time to enjoy.

Honestly, it might not be heeded, but my advice is to avoid getting a lot of help. Avoid "advice" because what it is going to amount to is "make a bard" and "use this, this and this" and you will have learned all there is to know within 2 weeks. And then the magic is gone. That magic that people want to recapture but can't.

Maybe read up a bit on how to raise a skill or two proficiently, but try to leave out as much outside sources as you can, unless you can verify they are "legit" in experiencing the game. Honestly, in my eyes this game is like Diablo 1. It could have gone so much better with todays technology/security, but it was impossible to find actual players, even when the game was current. Everyone used programs to import items and downright cheat. It wasn't a game, it was repetition.

Experience it like new again, or you will get burnt out quickly and leave, just like so many. Come back, play for 4-5 months or events only, leave for the rest of the year.
