Nude for events?

so i am just wondering because i have noticed this in every event i have joined. why are all the casters always nude? do you gain mana faster passively with the less armor you wear? and if the mana is faster, is it worth the pay off of much bigger melee hits? whats with all the nudity?

Yes, you do gain mana faster the less armor you have.

But... you see so many nude people in events because while you retain your items upon death in an event; all newbied items(including clothes) are still sent to your backpack like a normal death.
