You will only be able to steal specific items from enemy guild members, instead of only being able to random steal from them.

Stealing Accuracy Check?
Just wondering if this exists on UOSA?
Re: Stealing Accuracy Check?
Thanks. I don't think it does. I saw this myself some time ago, said "oh neat" and forgot to follow up.Mens Rea wrote:Mini-update with small fixes Feb 26 1999 11:25AM

Thanks, will check.

I'm not sure I understand this. Is this to say that you should not be able to "random" steal from an enemy guild, but only direct steal?
I don't really understand why that would be.

This is definately what the patch is sayingMatronDeWinter wrote:I'm not sure I understand this. Is this to say that you should not be able to "random" steal from an enemy guild, but only direct steal?
Guessing as to why OSI did something is out of my jurisdiction.MatronDeWinter wrote:I don't really understand why that would be.
The single issue I have with this is that I can't find an appropriate message to give when this happens.
"You can't steal from this."
"You can't steal that."
"You cannot steal this item."
"You are not a member of the thieves guild." < -Maybe?
"This item has no value to you."
None of these work for this really, and I belive we would have the message in the modern client if the message existed.
We have this message for example, which is ancient and related to stealthing with low stamina: "Better hide under a tree and get some rest first."

Re: Stealing Accuracy Check?
Well, if before this patch you could random steal, and direct steal from enemy guildmembers, and anyone else in the game.Mini-update with small fixes Feb 26 1999 11:25AM

After this patch you can only direct steal from enemy guildmembers, and still random/direct steal from anyone else?
Why?
I just don't see how this would have any effect on anything other than perhaps preventing non-thief-guild characters from stealing from enemy-guildmembers because they are orange. (You know, because now it would require snooping).
I mean, this patch would realistically change nothing, no thief is going to limit themselves by warring another guild and asking to be attacked.
I guess on a dexer with 100 dex, stealing could be modified to like 30-40 which would be enough to maybe steal some bandaids or a potion without having steal/snoop skill??
That sound logical?
