does stacking armor benefit you or does it just take into account the armor piece with the higher value? i.e. stacking plate legs with chainmail legs

The peice with highest value counts, except for chain tunic when used for arms, any other arms piece will override that

the only real benefit is to have a backup when something breaks and to be able to lug more loot back from the dungeons
