Looks playable but I'd swap eval for wrestling. Seen a few dexxer PKs on my bard, and if you need to cast a few spells on a mob you're not provoking them right.BMOORE1974 wrote:magery 100

If you swap Eval Int for Wrestling you will greatly increase your survivability without sacrificing much in the way of money-making potential (which is the only reason to have a bard).
I was going to keep some Eval Int on my bard but after encountering some dexers, I'm dropping it in favor of Wrestling.

but doesnt eval give me a added bonus that would out weigh the wrestling or our you saying wrestling would help out better in pvp cases?
Re: What kind of Char would u call this / how would you play it?
Eval isn't going to help much if you can't get the spell off. If your focus is PvP, why do it on a bard?
If you're concerned with doing more damage you might drop hiding for wrestling instead. If you want more survivability; keep hiding, add wrestling, drop eval.

Id swap hiding for wrestling myself....you can use invis afterall...this would give you a perfect mage build while keeping your bard skills which would make the char playable in both pvp and pvm.

hiding for wrestling is very interesting
invis dont take alot of mana and is alawys faithful....

I have the same skills on my bard but Wrestling instead of Hiding. I like having eval int. Sometimes all it takes is one more spell.

I don't have wrestling on my bard and it has never been a problem for me. I'd swap hiding for something else (maybe lockpicking), if you want to hide just cast invisibility. If you use hiding you have to wait the skill timer out before you can use provocation.

This is my exact build. I don't mind the lack of wrestling because this builds primary means of survival is RUNNING AWAY. If you're in a group, the eval int gives you more punch. When confronted by a pk, you just run run run hide. Then recall out.

Re: What kind of Char would u call this / how would you play it?
only diffrence to my bard is the resist , i have 0 resist and wrestling so i dont get disrupted but im new here so i dont know how all this works yet . just made her. does wrestling help not get disrupted,, cause on the other shard(wont mention name),wrestling helped not get disted. ??? and well i would use hide and inviso cause no ressit ..
I would run in with precasted inviso. and drop it when im in the middle of the slayers or what not..
Then i would provoke them and run out if i failed im running out anyways hide around the corner...
and with eval i could tater them with spells and keep both them = health going down so they died together ... im Gm looter,Loot and run out..
thats the way it would go most the time but you get those crazy times when pks run in while im watching tv and the monsters are chewing at each other, i would always run in with the monsters and hide. most the time they dont follow.. hehe i didnt die much . carry pots and plenty of regs .. and have that finger on the Recall macro i made with razor.. hehe 2 sec. faster then anyone else. ;] ok im done

you won't be disrupted if you don't take damage, wrestling will prevent you from being hit by a weapon when unarmed (casting).

You're... kidding, right? The Brave Sir Robin defense?Abbynormal wrote:This is my exact build. I don't mind the lack of wrestling because this builds primary means of survival is RUNNING AWAY. If recall is going to be the backbone of your "crap, I got caught outside of my gank squad" survival strategy, then you should use it immediately, instead of all that stuff about running or hiding. Yes, if you recall before the PK can react, you'll probably live. But if you run you'll only die tired. Hiding is not reliable, even on the best day. The proper use for it is to sneak up on someone, not to sneak away from them after they already know you're there.
Re: What kind of Char would u call this / how would you play it?
On my bard, I am a self confessed chicken shit, because I am not very good at PVP on my PVP char, let alone trying it on a bard. With that said, Hiding has saved me from PK's a couple if times.
Hiding is useful for a lot of other things other than PVP survivability though (not as much in this build though). such as if you had lockpiking hiding is helpful. The biggest difference I would point out is invisibilty has a timer, but assuming you have high magery is next to guarenteed you will succeed. Hiding is less chance of success (like if you are targeted), but no timer. For my lockpicker I precast invis, run to the chest, cast, and then hide. This is more to insure I have enough time for repeated attempts at picking a chest if needded. If you make sure you tab out before attempting to hide, you will succeed at hiding and again there is no timer on that. I find if I don't tab out, I fail hiding even though I am invisible.
On a build not necessarily intended for PVP, I like hiding.

Re: What kind of Char would u call this / how would you play it?
Hiding is underrated.
On the Bard: If you're quick you can hit recall when you see reveal from a pk. This is assuming you can even get the hide off, in which case you probably should have just hit the recall key and rely on wrestling. For me I'd rather have my skill timers for provocation and meditation; using invis to hide from monsters.
On my orc (no magery) i use hiding all the time to let those last few seconds of bandage tick. GM hiding you can hide 8 squares away from attackers. Some people will run right by you too.
