I just started here I have been macroing for the past 4 days, and was wondering how much I can get into a small house for. just want a small basic house to store stuff at. Please let me know!!! thanks!

43800 gold pieces....there are about 15000 small house spots still left on the shard, you can hardly go a full screen without seeing one

Go to the carpentry shop, say vendor buy to the architect, and buy the small house deed of your choice....then go place it

Yes, fully agree. Price for a small would be the deed price. More than enough spots for smalls. Nearly everywhere. Just don't expect to get the prime moongate vendor spots.

They are out there I just showed 4 people were to place a L shape and I placed a Tower for myself. ther eare there.
Also just today gave a guy who is pretty nice a Tower spot I came across.

A little while ago I placed my first house, a small at a house range. I initially wanted to place a large there but couldnt get it to fix so I went with the small.

Now there is an L shaped placed where I wanted to place one and I think a small just popped up. If you think a house will fit but isn't sure ask someone like Tabius of $$$. They will likely be able to place it.

Good trick to try is pop on the test server and try placing the house.
That is what I do befor I show peopel a spot for a house.

Yea I did go on test and couldnt place a larger house so I just brought a small.

Some house placers might not like me posting this but at least I'm burying it in another post....

The trick all the house placers used back in the day: It wasn't a special eye for how the wacky UO engine's house-placing logic is applied (this is evidenced by Derrick himself being impressed when certain housing fits). It's all UOAM. You store separate UOAM files from other shards (there's an option to create a fresh map file with housing data stored) and open each one up in turn (while you are running around UOSA) and see what other houses from other shards fit in that area. This made me over $3K on Ebay in '99/2000. There are other minor elements to the art of house-placing, but that's the big Ace in the Sleeve.

Now it's not so easy to do this because the housing on OSI has funky shapes, but still, that's how I got my first two smalls near the brit moongate on UOSA. I got a free trial account with OSI, mapped the area around Brit on a few different shards, and then overlayed it here on UOSA. I was really, really really bummed when I couldn't find my old UOAM map files. They would be worth a lot to anyone on here looking to place lots of large houses.

Nice riant. Too bad I have no loot for a tower or I might try to place one.
