PVPing as a tamer

Was this ever a viable option back in the T2A days? It used to take 3 whole months to GM a tamer, you didn't gail on failed attempts, and my friend commented "I'd be the man" if I could get GM, but now I see it just doesn't work out, because a few PK's with blade spirits and EV's can take it down.

Actually............I take that back, they auto dispel like in the old days, right? But how fast? As fast as Balrons do, was it ever possible to take down a dragon with 3 mages casting EV's and BS's? I see it will be harder to a tame a dragon unlike some other "pre-renaissance server's" where they don't dispel.

But, even if they can dispel, do they do it fast enough to make them good in PvP? I'd imagine they'd be good against dexxers and mages if they can deliver one breath at full hitpoints, and if you can control them as a ghost.

tamers are only good for killing the really difficult creatures like ancient wyrms, a mage can beat most tough creatures solo.

the thing about tamers and pvp
is its a risk vs reward calculation before someone even decides to engage combat with you.

if someone knows they are overpower'd they move on and not fight!


mind you im sure many pvp mages will stick around for the fight. and pets always create a interesting dynamic.

Don't bother.

Pets blow.

You will die before your pets can kill anything because you can run around avoiding them the whole time. Dragons are too slow to be viable in anything except monsterstomping.

I know someone rage logged and brought their tamer to attack the orcs with like 4 dragons...we got a lot of loot and some nice magic weapons ^_^

My favorites are the tamers that beg you to let their pets live after they bring them to fight. Dragon killing is pretty satisfying.
