I have ben working on my stealing skill for a while now, It has never stopped gaining but it is going way slow.

I have been stealing lock picks from a stack of 100 from a guild member. is there a better way to gain skill or is it just naturally a slow gaining skill?

would stilling a bag with the correct #of LBS of stuff in it work better?

there is no way to "gain faster" .. if you are gaining currently then you are doing it correctly..

on a side note, i used a stack of 100 bottles from 50 - 100 stealing on a pack horse

Hmm... I tried using a pack animal but it kept saying I could not steal from my self

does stealing in a public area make the skills go up faster?

Either add more to the pile of gold or make sure that you are returning every coin to it before every steal attempt. Otherwise, you will be stealing from a stack of less than 100. You want to make sure that you are--every time you steal--stealing from a pile that weighs at least 1/10 of your stealing skill. (100 gold can't weigh much!)

currently stealing from your own pack horse does not work even if you are in a guild and tell it to guard you.
best way to gain stealing is to make a second account and load razor twice. steal from your alt's pack horse using a macro that steals and then drops the item (i use a stack of 100 bottles) on the ground. have your alt pick up the bottles using scavenger under agents tab of Razor and make a macro that moves the bottles from your alt's bag to the pack horse.

There are several entries about this in the guide section and in other posts. Stealing is a slow gainer, but I found out that you could do it a little faster by weighing down bags to the most I could steal, then just stealing bags. When you steal from stacks, the amount you take really varies.

remember the bag weighs one stone
