Provo Bard template

Post by ArteEtLabore14 »

I'm making a provo bard. It's annoying having to wait for the two mobs to kill each other, so I like to be able to do damage as well. I generally like to have magery on all my chars, but it's not necessary an integral part of my template. How does this sound:

GM Music
GM Provo
GM Macing
80 Anat
80 Healing
80 Tactics
80 Magery
80 Resist

Or I could just drop resist altogether, use reflect, and GM all those other skills or replace it w/ 80 hiding. Thoughts?

I'd go fencing due to attack speed and repairableness. Also, I dont know if you need Resist at all here.. Personally, I'd gm Magery and cast EV's all over the place.

Think I'm going to stick with macing just because I've played too many fencers. You think just having resist up will be good enough to try and escape from mag creatures and the occasional PK?

I have 0 resist on my bard and I escape just fine. All you need is to keep reflect on and have a lot of trapped pouches. I'd think about investing that 80 points into gming all that skills. But it's up to you.

Instead of GM'ing those skills do you think it's worth it to get 80 hiding in place of resist?

I'd go with:
GM Music
GM Provo
GM Wrestling
Gm Magery
GM Resist
GM Meditation
GM Eval Int

Wrestling/Resist will save you from PK's far more than 80 anat/healing will as long as you're willing to recall... and if you want to be farming the highest profit monsters finishing them off with ev's/magery quickly will outweigh the extra regs you're using relying on solely magery, as opposed to macing/anat/heal/hiding

+1

Cookie cutter, but by far the best IMHO. Why would you want to get in macing when you have provo'ed two Balrons, or deamons. Just toss in an EV (or two) and sit back.

Looks like a great build, but don't the EV's attack anything they come across or do they act as pets and not attack you? Just got to this server still learning the ropes on the era were playing on :)

Both BSs and EVs will agro on most anything. This can flag your criminal and ultimately lead to murder counts so its a good idea to only use them around people you trust. Be ready with a dispel in any event, especially when the mob is about to die. Its very embarassing to die to your own EV.

Yup. Naturally you don't plan on getting hit, and with the ability to run, the only time you are ever really going to suffer any physical melee damage is when you stop to cast. Wrestle+Magery even on a dexer is a great combo.

I'm in the process of building this right now. I currently have hiding gmed and love it. This build does not have hiding but I can just cast invis. My question is what is the break down of invis vs hiding. Thank you!

Invis will wear off in a certain period of time. Hiding will not.
