The Lag Post...

Post by Roser »

Ok so... Many of us have been experiencing this horrendous ongoing lag for about 4 days now. It can be described like this:

When standing still or remaining in the same 1-2 screen area, no lag will occur, Ping test shows normal. (70 for me)
When running NE or SW constant lag begins to occur, this is especially the case in large packet areas (player towns), ping test shows spikes (400 for me)
Vista/Win7 user's will notice a heavy amount of Black Pixel tracers when running. (my screen becomes enveloped, I'm on Win7).
Note : You need to be mounted and running fast to see this lag.

I have run a trace route to uosecondage.com (both when running and when standing still) and I cannot find any problem there, seems to be ok. Furthermore I have tested my connection to VA though speedtest.net, seems just fine.

This started around the time Derrick restarted the server to fix the lag last time, seems some were fixed and some not. Ive talked to at least 20 people that have this same issue.

If you are experiencing this lag, shout out and post below.

same,

i have been experiencing this pretty much since the hack attack.
i do force my game window bigger and expect black tiles, but the lag is bad on a mount and the black tiles tend to stay. if i run through them, they disappear.

i am on win7

1 of my brothers has same issue, he is on winXP. we have been thinking it was our isp.

I'm using 5.0.8.3 (downloaded from website, unchanged)

Same.

Standing still ping of 60-70.

Running spikes it to 400ish.

Oh man, glad to see this is a common issue. Was starting to think I had my force resolution too high, as it was starting to lag when trying to run.

I have not noticed this but that could be due to the little running I do in game .. I will try and look into this ..

The DeSynch's are pretty bad too, I think I'm beginning to wear out my ReSynch hotkey.

I have been getting this issue since I started here. My ping in ms-dos is a constant 270 but when I -ping in game 270 is only my min ping, my max is always something ridiculous like 500. I don't trust the in game -ping system.

I have hit spots on lag in the past few days, I hit a really ridiculous patch of lag where I could see everything happen in game, but couldnt move/do anything. I watched my EV kill a deamon, turn on me and slaughter me. So frustrating
