Question about AFK murders

SO I was macroing FS at theBrit Bank last night and woke up dead this morning. No big loss except there is no way for me to report the murderer. Any idea how someone can kill me without me being able to report them? DOes the murder count gump disappear if it isn't used in a certain time frame?

The murdercount gump should persist forever even after shard restart. This is the first report I've recived of the gump not being there on log in.

Same has happened to me, sometimes I get the gump and sometimes not when killed while afk macroing, though usually I do.

This may be worth looking at. I have noticed of late that if I kill 10 people I will only end up with 6 or 7 counts. I thought that maybe people were not reporting me for whatever reason, but possibly this is why.

I would say their macros are probably closing the gump.

Alternatively, maybe there is some pattern of attacking, dying, gating, etc...which allows you to get the 'attack flags' in a position where you don't get a count. Since hte person if AFK, they'd never realize that someone was doing it.

This may have also been a case of flamestriking yourself to death. There have been very isolated cases of Magic doing damage in town. I've never seen it happen however.

There is a classical way of town-killing people without recieving murder counts.. But you have to be pretty die-hard about town killing to do such..

Honestly, all you have to do is have a tamer, with a dragon or wyrm (i prefer wyrms  ) and release it next to the victim.. As long as you aren't directly next to an NPC, you can just sit and watch as your once loyal pet decimates the entire town.. After you're satisfied with the results, you can then simply attack the pet, lure it a screen or so away, paralyze it, and attempt to tame it. The 1st "you begin taming" you get, it's retamed, because you've owned it once already..

Anymore questions..?

You can also make people turn grey to you buy attacking them dieing, then letting them auto defend and damage you then dieing again, then they are grey to you for 2 mins, so you just simply shrine res

The whole autodefend thing doesn't strike me as era-accurate. I never played T2A so maybe they added it after I left. However, I used to use hiding ALL the time in PvP (before and after the LoS changes) and never had to worry about punching the guy attacking me if he stepped near me.

However, I guess if this autodefend is being used to gank people in town one must simply add a "war mode on" - "war mode off" line to all town macros. That should prevent autoattacking, right?
