1. Change your font settings in game. This will make all statics and other messages read in the old ASCII font.
2. Use old art files.

The link for this verdata file is
here. Simply save and overwrite it in your UO folder (while your client is closed)
3. Use old spell format. In options tab of Razor, there is a text box called "Spell Format". Change this to be just "{power}". To prevent people from using the old tactic of spamming other spell text to throw you off, you can also check "Override Spell Hues" so you know which ones are actually spells.
4. Disable the new hideous targetting system (Thanks uofuntime)
5. Check "Use Pre-AOS status Window" in the Razor options tab.
6. Don't use light filters
Anyone have anything else to add?

Thanks for tips.
I love most "old style" graphics, but about the new housing walls and roof art, when was that released? Was it T2A or Renaissance? To be honest I quite prefer the lusher looking trees and nice detailing of the buildings though.
I dislike, however, the new art used for the clothing! The 3d style fancy dress is blah. The short/long pants for the females are Samurai pants in the paperdoll! I really wish something can be done about this across all clients, as I like some uniformity. I say Renaissance era 2d art is okay. Just not anything from the 3d client please!
Oh I guess I have something to add. Did this for a player who did not want the new targeting cursor:

You know when you target something (even by just double clicking for paperdoll), you get that funny Age of Shadows (I think) rib-cage looking thing with a blue jewel under/over the target? It takes away that.
Oh and don't forget to check disable menu bar!

Keep several torrents running in the background, and set the upload speed to approximately 85% of your total upload bandwidth. This will induce era-accurate lag, and a more era-enjoyable experience.

So, I'm looking through all the original files on my T2A CD. Reading this thread has made me curious as to whether other old school files would work with the current client. You think the original map file would work? What about the fonts file? Would that possibly allow the old school gradient text that everyone loves?
edit: Maybe in the future these old school files could be endorsed by UOSA by being included in the UO install download?

I was reading through this thread and suddenly remembered the old Treasure chest intro, and could swear that it was brought up before.
So I searched it and yep....I asked about it in a similar thread Hemp made months back.

I soooo wish we could get that old intro, and character creation screen back.
/DEMAND
Next patch, I want music for Windows Vista, the treasure chest and old character creation screen!
