New to UO:SA.

Hey, I'm playing UO now for the first time in about ten years. I may not need to do this since I don't remember much, but if someone wants to help me out, I'd appreciate it. I made a mage with the name I wanted and use for most MMOs, Thranduil, and I kinda accidently used the scrolls instead of putting them in my spell book. I'd just start again, but I can't unless I delete my character so I can keep my name of Thranduil. Would it be possible for someone to make a new mage character and give me the scrolls they start with. My AIM is "itsweezer" so please IM me if you are kind enough to help a noob. Thanks in advance.

You can make characters with the same name in Ultima Online.

Not on the same account. I'd have to wait 7 days to delete this character from my account though. So unless someone helps me out by just giving me the beginner scrolls they start with, I basically have to wait a week to delete my character and make a new one, and I'd rather not wait a week to play.

You can have 3 accounts, and 5 characters each. Just make a new character.

You can have characters of the same name on the same account. This is how it's always been since OSI. Just make a character with the same name... just do it. You didn't even try? I have had characters on the same account with the same name before, usually because I am deciding on skin tone and hairstyle.

Even now on one account I have 2 characters with the same name. You will not need to wait 7 days to delete the char just to create a new one with the same name... Where did you get this idea?

It did work lol. I thought I was getting an error message that I couldn't, but I guess it was just the message saying it was waiting for my character to time out. Ok, I'm good to go now lol, thanks. And thanks for the link for beginners too. It's good to be back.

Because he can just create a new character. He is not at his character limit. He likes his character name "Thranduil" and thinks he won't be able to make another char of the same name unless he deletes that one first. I mean, does he really want a handful of 1st lvl scrolls or does he want something more? Because he can easily obtain that. And if he wanted "something more"; all I can say is just play the game because the early stages are fun as well.

But really, the problem here is that he thinks you can't have characters of the same name on a account.

the scrolls that you start with can all be purchased from npc mages at ridiculously low cost, like 10 gp or somthing. It would be easier to run there and buy them than worry about extra accounts and making new characters.

I fear for this new player, befuddled over a couple of lost scrolls. Wonder how the rampant PK'ing will suit him?
