Making Mage/Macer Question on Stats

Ok so I have a templete that looks like this:

Magery
Eval
Anat
Mace
Healing
Tacs
Resist

I'm trying to figure out what I want to put my stats at. I want to use this char to pvp but I don't know if I should mace first then dump mana or mana dump then go in for the kill. What whould you guys keep his stats at and which would you do first mana dump or mace?

I'd do mana dump last when they're already half health. If you do it first they can easily heal up.

I have mine at:
100
50
75

Any reason for the 80 mana? What combo do you do? Do you need the extra mana?

Ok let me restate this.. I took a 2nd look at your template and I think..
  • 95 str
  • 75 dex
  • 55 int
You have no meditation, meaning once used, you're mana is pretty much gone for the duration of your fight. This being said, you need to save it for it's primary use, healing, and the finishing combo/spell.. You will need high dex because obviously, melee is your biggest source of damage. I drop the str by -5 because you can just chug a +20 dex/str pot, and still have 55 mana.. This biggest problem with this template is that once you've used all your mana, you won't be getting it back anytime soon, which means half of your template is now useless.. You will need to rely on disrupts & pots to be successful on the field, unless you've got a ghoul's touch quarter staff.. :wink:

That's great thanks a bunch. I will be using a q-staff but what does ghouls touch do again? So your saying I'll malee first then cast to finish them off or heal depending on where there health and mine is?

I've never been a fan of this type of template simply because you're a one trick pony. If you run out of mana you're basically fucked. Personally, I think it's a bad idea to run this type of character but obviously opinions differ.

The template is affective the way it is, you just have to be very conservative of your mana.. If you're to drop anything I would suggest dropping eval, but then you'd be a med-hybrid and be required to learn to play defensivly..

I'd go tank/mage or full dexxer with magery/resist as defense. I wouldn't try to combine the two but again, that's only my opinion.
