Wrestling - Holy Hell!
I'm not sure why i'm posting but i went from 46.8 - 50.1 Wrestle in....
8 hours
Is it extremely slow because of the difference in skill? (GM VS 46.8 )
Is it because it's a Guild Mate?
Is it because of the 25 Dex?
Is it because it's in a house?
I just can't believe that a constant macro (ALL DAY NO STOP) on a GM char is going so slowly...
If you think this may be a bug, lemme know.

These. Get your dex to 100 w/ snooping in 15 minutes, and punch a hired paladin or guard.SoundofGod wrote:I'm not sure why i'm posting but i went from 46.8 - 50.1 Wrestle in....

Re: Wrestling - Holy Hell!
Use an NPC mage and you can GM it in a matter of hours (roughly 3-4). Paladin is much slower (at least 4x slower), but it's easier to keep them alive.
I think it may actually be impossible to GM from other players - I left a friend's character bashing on mine, since I had a heal macro running on my character anyway, while I was doing resist. His character did not gain a single point in 2 hours of macro (and he was only ~80 swords).
Other than archery, skill gains seem to be
Wrestle (fastest)
Fencing
Swords
Macing (slowest)
IDK why macing is so much slower, but it definitely is. A character with 25 dex training wrestle beat a character with 100 dex, training macing, to grandmaster. Tactics is also weird, you can GM 2 wep skills before tactics GMs. I always remember tactics being the first skill to GM on OSI shards.

Re: Wrestling - Holy Hell!
for Wrestling and all my other combat skills, I train with hired fighters that are always available in the tavern by West Britain bank.
8 hours and such little gain is unacceptable.
You should be GM by then.

Re: Wrestling - Holy Hell!
Hire a mage npc and wrestle that; I GMed wrestling in under 4 hours.

Re: Wrestling - Holy Hell!
Dont spar another player for gains, always use an NPC of some sort. Dex helps, but it's not too bad to GM with 25 dex. Houses have nothing to do with combat skills. The difference in skill (GM vs 46) does make a difference too, but usually the NPC you spar will gain skill with you, and keep gains effecient.SoundofGod wrote: Is it extremely slow because of the difference in skill? Yes
Is it because it's a Guild Mate?
Yes (especially this!)
Is it because of the 25 Dex?
Yes
Is it because it's in a house?
No
Re: Wrestling - Holy Hell!
Hire a mage, buy some GM Plate from a player vendor, drag it onto the mage, hit it, say "all stop", heal it or have somebody else heal it.
I did this in my house and went from 0 wrestling to GM in about 4 hours, then I realised I needed med to train magery, dropped it back down to 60 and then re-GMed it in about 2 hours. Took about 1000 bandages total. NPC didn't drop below 50% HP once even with my GM Tactics and GM Anat, and i AFKed the entire thing.

Re: Wrestling - Holy Hell!
I have notice that you gain real slow after 45.0 with any skill if you are in your house and you gain nothing after 50.0% in house. Allthoe i just tried hiding, eval intel and item id.
Re: Wrestling - Holy Hell!
I GMed item id just the other day in my house.... hiding you obviously wont gain in your house...

Re: Wrestling - Holy Hell!
Just hire a Jehlom fighter. Don't worry about your dex. I wanted to switch my dexer to mace and my tank mage to swords. I did them at the same time and I used the same fighter. My mage with 25 dex only took a few hours longer to GM. So don't mess up your stats for that.
Re: Wrestling - Holy Hell!
Since this is the macro melee thread I have a question.
I do not have healing on my fencer, but I want to raise fencing/tactics.
I do have a second account/character that is a healer.
Should I hire an NPC and run some kind of macro that will have the healer character heal both myself and the NPC?
