Fewer Server Restarts

Post by Alex21 »

I believe there should be fewer server restarts as less updates are being made to the server these days. The reason for this mainly is it annoys me when i am in the middle of something and it really isn't necessary unless server patches are going through.

So why not make the server restarts only every 3rd day or once a week even?

Of course less restarts would be welcome - at least for us europeans, as for us, the restarts take place at 1pm.

But it depends. I don't know anything about RunUO. If the restarts are needed for keeping the performance, so shall be it. Less restarts - lesser performance: no thanks :)

Restarts don't affect performance.

I really don't see what the problem is since production servers restarted every day too...

One of the biggest values of restarts are that they verify our ability to "load the world". If we were to find that (although this is way out there) some in game object had caused corruption of our save files, the daily restart would reveal this.
