vender sell limits

Ok I know I'm going to get flamed on this one... but I'll take the hit...

It seems to me that the reason vendors would only buy 5 items at a time is because as you sold them items the price they would pay for thaqt item changed. If they had very few or none of that type of item they would pay top dollar. If they had alot the amount they would pay would go down, untill they reached the max they would carry then they would stop buying.

I remember I used to save my cotton up untill the vendor was out so I could get the best price for the item, then I would only sell 10-20 at a time because the price would drop 5-10% for every batch you sold.

ok so let me have it, I know this isn't going to be popular. Though it could help to promote better prices for smart crafters.

Well I guess this is a moot point I was informed (by my wife of all people LOL) that this appeared to be happening just at a slower rate of decline than I remembered.

you are right... when i was a super newb selling meat for gold i would sell so much to the yew meat shop that i had to begin traveling with my meat to the skara butcher...

im not sure how we could figure out the max the vendor would buy though. Im pretty sure jewl vendors could buy a ton of jewls.

I agree, selling to npcs was a monumental pain in the ass. NPCs here buy way too much

Does anyone know off hand whether the lower prices that npc's will pay over time when they are inundated by sellers of an item are impacted on a city specific basis or globally all over Brittania. When I was new selling bolts of cloth in Delucia, for example, did the price paid by a tailor npc also drop in Britain as it did in Delucia when I sold it there?

I know I could check this myself but I quit spinning wool and cotton a long time ago and just wonder if anyone has a clue on this. Thanks for any feedback.

If it works the way I remember it, all NPC shopkeepers were indipendant of one anther, so even 2 keepers in the same shop would pay diffrent rates depending on what they had in their inventory.

I remember it this way too, you could just hop between different vendors if one started being stingy. Actually, this is one of the very few things I remember about T2A.

i dont know about this era but right at the time they added the customizable house the vendor bought it all for the same price i know that for a 100% fact cause i sold the vendor a few billion ingots 5 at a time for a few months.
During the great dartboard/ingot scam.

I remember running all around the world to get rid of my gems during t2a after awhile i just gave up trying to sell them because they either wouldnt buy anymore or would give me crap money for them.

Currently the Jewler is exempted from sell limits. That is an error and should be fixed soon.
