It has been proven time after time that the answer is yes.
And obviously you don't want anything but a GM tinker touching this key to make a copy.

taking public offers = auction
Basically if you can see what someone else offered, you can offer more (or, bid). Which makes it an auction.

not exactly because i won't necessarily sell if the bid is not high enough, and if i won't unless the price is right, i'm using this more to see if anyone is interested, and i'm also taking private bids, so it is not an auction
