Multi-clienting, Vets, Economy and Griefers.
The only one issue i have about this shard is the multi clienting. As far as t2a / origin accuracy, multi clienting was not allowed but it is here. Now, how does this affect this shard? Well, i recently found this shard and i THOUGHT i found what i was looking for, a pre-care bear shard with all the bugs, pvp, and player economy to support such pvp/pvm we all love. I thought i have found it until i was able to save up enough gold for some regs, a mount and got my toons skills up to actually go out and hit the old spots that i miss from old uo days. When i am able to finally venture out into the world, after 2 weeks of actually trying to play this game i find it impossible to do so. I can't believe how many people park (multi-client) reds / pvp toons at pvm hot spots. For 2 weeks i have not been able to find a decent pvm spot to try and build a decent amount of gold to support my deaths and to even come close to my first house purchase. Even the crappy lich spawn north of Brit is camped. Its unbelievable.
Now I'm not making this statement from a couple of days playing, but with every death, and loss, i find myself hunting trash orcs and trolls to save up for another stash of gear and regs to try for dungeon runs, just to get pked a few steps in the door. And i understand, the older players here put in there time and and they like to pk, fine OK, but to not be able to play the game other then mining, lumber jacking, and fighting random trash mobs in the woods is ridiculous.
As far as economy goes, being able to multi client has killed the economy. Who needs to buy GM amour, potion kegs, bows, arrows/bolts, ingots, boards when people are allowed to just macro the skills they need on one of 3 accounts? And yes, i also mean resource gathering. There are a few programs out there (well known ones) that allow afk resource gathering and i seriously doubt people do not use them. A simple fact that there is NO market for resources proves this.
The only thing i can say this shard has is pvp. Well not so much pvp cause all i have found is vets with well tuned macros and well timed haly strikes preying on 1/2 built toons like myself.
I don't know what else to say, i started playing uo Pre renaissance and quit a few month after fell died to tram and sold my account for $800 on e-bay. So i would like to think i have a good handle on this game and how it all works. I have played on a few free shards to include Hybrid for a few years and i just don't think the actual NEW uo players and post Tramm players will ever get anywhere in this shard.
But then again i am just a casual player, maybe this shard is for hard core, no life, can spend 12 hours a day ( no offense meant) players only. /shrugs

Take a deep breath.
First off, welcome to UOSA. Players do ghost dungeons looking for others to prey on, it's a well known & documented fact. I didn't start playing until UO:R, but the same type of stuff was happening in UO:R when I moved to Siege Perilous and I'm sure it was also happening during T2A. Perhaps not as wide-spread, or easily noticed, but it was happening. The first thing you need to do is pick better / safer hunting spots and be prepared to flee (Recall!) if you're not comfortable fighting for your life. Certain spawn areas are PK hotspots, you have to move away from them / rotate where you hunt or try and find places that might be a bit less profitable but much safer. I bought the first house I placed here on UOSA from fighting "overland trash" and harpies in Covetous 1: I know it might be a bit tedious, but it can be done.
As to your comment on resources, players who frequent #secondage (IRC) can attest to the fact that resources (lumber, ingots) are being bought & sold in that channel all the time. I know of a player who recently Gm'd a smith off of purchased ingots, I know another who I "brokered" ingots to that was helping a friend Gm their smith, and I've helped a handful of new players who have made the gold needed to get a foothold here via lumbering & mining. This is within the last 7-10 days. Ingots are still selling for 6-7 per, boards seem to be steady at 4. There have been players busted here for afk'ing resources, and they are punished if/when they are caught.
Many of us here are consumers - in nearly 500 days off/on playing here I've personally only Gm'd one craft skill: Alchemy. I purchase all the other crafted goods I need.
UOSA has all sorts of players: newbs, die hard vets, pvm types, pvp types, pk types, roleplayers, crafters, merchants, and so on and so on. It's up to you to find where you fit and carve out your niche.

Re: Multi-clienting, Vets, Economy and Griefers.
I know its hard when an alt of a red gates a murderer in riding a nightmare with every potion chugged, every bit of protection spell cast with MR jewelry donned and armed with power and vanq weapons while you may be already damaged or low on mana having your magic reflection nullified and the extra weight is draining your mounts stamina.
I know you are looking to redeem your lost honor by engaging the fight, but it isn't a fair one. Recall, it's the smarter choice. If you have to Ghost with an alt yourself and confront the red on his terms when he pops his little bountied head out do so. Be the hero for the next hunter then...ten to one you arent ready for combat as much as the PK(s) if you are just out hunting.

Re: Multi-clienting, Vets, Economy and Griefers.
Thanks for all the insight, i really appreciate it. I haven't given up on this shard by any means. I just get frustrated with starting over every day to some one who is not out looking for a real fight. It is just someone who sits at spawns, while mining on another account and jumps out and kills me as I'm fighting with 1/2 life or little mana left.

[14:17] <UOSAPlayer4056> cr3w guild is a joke. Ran by staff members, multi client pking, this shards a joke and a half.

Re: Multi-clienting, Vets, Economy and Griefers.
You're way off on the original post.
First off... many people having GM smiths does not "ruin" the economy. If you want to be a smith and sell GM weapons to people, then yeah, you've got a lot of competition. But for every GM smith, someone's spent 210k-350k in ingots. Let's be honest... they could never come close to spending that on buying GM weapons. So it's gold removed from the economy, making your gold more valuable. Get creative and run a good vendor and you can still make money as a crafter... but you have to be creative.
Second... you say you can't even farm the lich in the Brit graveyard without being harassed. Are you kidding?!?! That is probably the single worst farming spot in UO. Every PK that wants to kill people to be a jerk goes there, because only newbs hunt there. Again... get creative. The Harpy room in Covetous 2 is great to farm. The monsters don't cast, so you can keep your reflect up. And 90% of the time, PKs will come from the tunnel to the south of it. You can see their name and have probably 3 full seconds to recall, since they have to run around the wall to get up into the room (doesn't seem like a lot, but 3 seconds to hit a recall button is plenty).
How is there "no market for resources"? Are you kidding? There's always 3-5 posts on the main Trading forum page about people buying/selling ingots.
If everyone has an alt that's making a GM smith/carpenter, WHERE ARE THEY GETTING THE INGOTS TO DO THIS IF THERE'S NO MARKET FOR INGOTS?

"I bought the first house I placed here on UOSA from fighting "overland trash""
This is how I have started on every shard that I have ever played including Siege and AI. Either that or hanging in out of the way cemetaries like Nujelm. Even Jhelom has city limits within sight of the cemetary and you can make money. If I was new here I'd just try to stay out of harms way[I mean pk's] for a few days while making some gold and gaining skills being the casual player. Kill some overland harpies - some are good for 200gp, a treasure map and/or gems that you can sell to npc's.
It's not that hard here if you do it smart.

Re: Multi-clienting, Vets, Economy and Griefers.
There is plenty of market for selling ingots and boards if you are patient. You may not sell right away, but don't stress it. Keep trying to sell them and they will eventually sell. Don't just drop your price because they aren't selling. People make that mistake all the time (unless you've been trying for a month). Sometimes theres just nobody buying, and you have to wait until they are.
I realize collecting resources is boring, but it is safe. My suggestion is to find several ways to make money, and switch up between them. Chop boards sometimes, mine sometimes, and don't sell those ingots until you get the price you want. If you need more immediate cash, make that your hunting. Like the others have said, there are lots of places to try. Perhaps try out fishing and t-mapping, thats another way you can pull some cash in fairly safely.

Sheer sheep collect cotton make fancy shirts sell for money to vendor. Easy money, no cost since you gather the materials, hardest thing is running between the vendors, but if you stockpile cloth you can run between them while making shirts. Good for some new player cash.

I started a friend on this server about two weeks ago. They have never played ultima before, or any game like it. This is the first game they have ever played that isn’t flash based.
I've taken my true noob to just about every hunting stop in Britannia. We have not once been pked or ever assumed someone was camping the spot on a ghost.
IMO we need more true pk’s on this server, ghosting more spawn locations.
So, why is Gracekain having such a hard time? I haven’t been able to replicate his results in game. I for one believe this is an exaggeration, just like most other 'multi-clienting' threads on this forum.'
