UO Second Age

I seem to remember a lot of mobs loot being dropped in backpacks. Hunting liches for hours always loaded my pack up with a ton of backpacks. Anyone else remember this?

Eh, your usually wrong anyways alatar. Anyone else? It was mostly undead I think. I'm positive that liches dropped loot in packs because I remember fighting over who could pick up the pack first.

Edit: Also Liches used to drop either a magic wand or gnarled staff every time. Currently they only drop unmagical gnarled staves every time.

like all the loot in a bag you just picked up? I wish... but i say no too.

This part, however, is true..

It wasnt on all creatures. I remember dragons,trolls,ogres,etc loot was exactly how it is now. But undead had a pack you would just loot, except zombies, zombies had gold and a random body part. The more I think about it the more it comes back.

I remember getting regular backpacks from the yew liches now... vaguely. I can see the corpse window with a bag and a staff/wand next to it. I remember this being on my lumberjacker, so it was UO:R. I really am not sure though.

I do remember some dropping backpacks but i think it was changed very very early

It was changed durring the "Clean up of Britania" phase 1 or 2 if I remember right. Liches also used to drop "a scroll" that was useless as well as crystal balls. They changed it when they changed the air/water el drop to be in a corpse instead of falling to the ground. I seem to remember the elementals dropping bags as well instead of a pile on the ground. I spent a fair amount of time in shame at the air ele area, but I am not positive on this.

I remember the scrolls. They were somewhat rare.

I was missing the backpacks too, but figured they were removed for lack of use. I believe they were found on undead and humanoids.
