ok im about 5 days old to the shard but i played on lake superior, aol legends, and IPY

my first character here is a bard and the template im working on is

100 str, 100 int, 25 dex

musicianship
provocation
magery
meditation
eval int
resist
wrestling

do you guys think i should drop eval for peacemaking or anything like that?

also, aside from template issues, i was wondering how exactly i should go about gming magery and eval. i know you guys macro magery on yourselves in town, but should i lock magery at 50 and gm eval with an 8th circle scroll or something? or should i just do magery first and then use the eval skill to gm it? thanks

Provocation is a really good skill; however, peacemaking is not. During the area, I read somewhere else on these forums, peacemaking did an area affect which only lasted for about a second. It did make the monsters forget who they were fighting, but they can target you again. Provocation is a money-maker though

A common way to level magery is done by locking Eval Int and casting on yourself to raise your Resist along with it. If you use this method you shouldn't require any healing to stay alive.

I would not recommenced dropping Eval Int for peacemaking. Derrick sums it up here:
Derrick wrote: Peacemaking was pretty useless in era, but in addition to that it's kind of broken here as well. It should peace em for only a second, but it should also make them "forget" who they were fighting, that part doesn't work. We do intend to fix it.
Both Eval Int and Peacemaking are easily macroed however. So feel free to give it a shot. Perhaps take some peacemaking while you work magery without Eval Int. See for yourself.

Why would you need to do this..? Spells do zero damage in town anyways.. Even with 100 eval & mage you can't kill anyone with magic..

i died today because a guy poisoned me while macroing provoke. He poisoned me, died, poisoned me, died, etc etc.

Name was TameR or LameR (cant remember).

Either way i let him kill me to see what happened, died, reported heh.

Lamer is a town killer(a bad one, more like a griefer). Got my ID bum the other day while afk. Take joy in the fact it took him so long to kill you

The shard I played 3 years ago before this one was not the same alatar. You could easily kill yourself without healing even in town. Guess I should have noticed my guy was never coming close to dieing. Oh well, i got two 90+ healers now haha.

Dear The cat,

I also played on AOL Legends. I played about 8-9 years ago, and was a frequent player, I'm just wondering if you remember my character. His name was "a Red Eminem", and i also had other chars. named "Pepsi-Cola", and "Clepto". and I think another named "Outkast", but I accidently deleted him shortly after 7xGM'ing him. I hung around Brittain, and ran with "Lithium", "Helleva", and "Des'Lom". We were in the guild BK, "Bad Karma". I played during the beginning of the factions and a few months after I quit playing. I have started back up again, and look forward to possibly meeting up with some old playing buddies.

Sincerely,
a Red Eminem
